'X-Men: Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut' was released yesterday.
The earlier Blu-ray release of this film was a single disc, containing the film, a few bonus features, but no audio commentary.
'The Rogue Cut' is a 2-disc set, with one disc containing two versions of the film (the cinema release and the extended version) and two feature-length audio commentaries with Bryan Singer and the writer. The other disc contains bonus features, a lot more than were in the previous release.
The extended cut of the film is silly and virtually pointless - and this from someone who's usually a fan of extended cuts. There's very little added in the first hour and a half (although there are now two uses of the F-word in it rather than just the one, which bumps the package up from a 12-rating to a 15-rating). An extra 15 minutes is then integrated into the last half hour of the film to accommodate a detour in the future plot,
HOWEVER, the new package is far superior to the previously released Blu-ray, as it has the two informative and interesting audio commentaries on it. Definitely the one to own.
Apparently Bryan Singer worked out the time travel logic of DoFP in an hour-long conversation with James Cameron at a party held in New Zealand by Peter Jackson.

to rescue Rogue from the X-Mansion so that she can take Kitty's powers and keep Wolverine in the past as Kitty's losing too much blood, in the course of which rescue Iceman dies. There are also extra scenes with Mystique and Beast.
Rogue gets no characterisation in any of this and certainly doesn't warrant having the cut of the film named after her. Other characters already present get more added dialogue in the extended cut than she does.HOWEVER, the new package is far superior to the previously released Blu-ray, as it has the two informative and interesting audio commentaries on it.
