New thread for UK comic out next week at time of posting.
How I would like to find my issue next week
52 page comic £3.99 11 comic with 11 classic Marvel reprint & a coupon for a free trading £4.99 starter pack.
I expect it to be like this £3.99 8 page awful comic with lots of the same rubbish fillins 36 pages with something on the cover for the bin.

That's a good page & can't wait for your review next week. But how long does it take Titan to update the Transformers page? They have for the last issue but had left it for 2yrs not updated.

Picked up the first issue today. I may have picked up two copies for the two mini figures.
I have to say the art in the comic story is dreadful. Very disappointed.

The wee figure however is endearing.

I didn't have the free gifts when I did my review, else it would have been 98% cooing over the adorability of the figurine. Agreed with Master Turnbull about the art, it may just be the old thing about artists struggling with the Movie designs but the fantastically named Ponce did some really lovely work on the last couple of Prime issues, it's a shame not to see that continue here. Still, very much typical for the comic, though there is a more mature bent than the Prime comic with the idea of nice Decepticons and so on, hopefully that'll continue. Oh wow. Uh, so they don't seem very confident in it then! 7 weeks between issues, crikey.

#4 must be down Sept/Oct issue or oct/nov. But why 7 weeks - it doesn't make any sense. It doesn't fit delay 3 weekly or maybe all Titan staff are on holiday in Sept2014?

Blimey, despite looking at the dates I'd completely missed the change from monthly. I should have gone to Specsavers. It does seem pessimistic of them to be assuming already that the book won't be able to maintain a monthly schedule, though I suppose if it does really well they might keep it four weekly.
Or if it does really badly send it back to being quarterly...

Terrible. But at least the figure was cute...

As previously said, I haven't bought this title since I stopped seeing the first volume appearing in my Smiths in 2007, so given the jumping on point I picked one up this morning. It just made me sad. Are all UK kids' comics like this these days? it's atrocious. £4? I suddenly realised what staggeringly good value an issue of 2000AD is. Thank god for IDW.

I'm going to enter the comps in the issue tonight - but one does give you answers to select from but none of the answers are correct.
Name the flying Dinobot in the movie. I've looked & all the toys the flying Dinobot is called Strafe but this isn't one of the answers listed. The question should be who is the flying Dinobot in the Movie supposed to be but Hasbro must not have the rights to the name.

Andres Ponce is doing a great job on the art this issue. draw ink colour. Looks more like a Marvel Age comic.

Haven't had chance to look at issue 2 yet, but I'm glad to hear Ponce is back, I really liked his stuff thus far.

Just picked up issues 1 today, my first issue since Titan decided to cancel my subscription at some point and because of the 3 month gap between issues I didn't noticed for a long time.
Story wasn't bad, but didn't fit the movie that comfortably so I do wonder how much the writer knew about the plot while writing it. Art was okay for movie designs but if Ponce is better then great.
Free figure was the best thing they have given away so far I dont think it will convince me to buy two copies of each, but I do like them.

Which figure did you get? I got Arcee [Breakdown last month] who is coloured blue on the bag while purple on the toy & last issue. The 3rd panel on page 1 looks like it was drawn by Tong on Spiderman adventures.
What is Crosshairs supposed to be like. This is the first issue but at points he seemed Hotrod like then Kup, Hound for a few panels then back to Hotrod.

Art for issue two was much improved over the first one. I actually found myself interested in the decepticons and wanted a longer story to see some character in them. The big blue guy was an ace robot design.
Reading these reminds me of old World Distributors Doctor Who annuals; it's almost right but doesn't quite feel 'proper' and there's too much irrelevant game/fact/filler crap.
The free figures are nice but they're not in the scale shown by the picture at the back of issue one, which would have made them great. Arcee looks silly next to Breakdown in the flesh.

Who are the 3 cons? Looked like reworked Grindor - but who are the purple one looks like a bike & green jet one.

The script went to great pains to avoid naming them, so I assumed they're just creations of the artist?

I going with the blue one being a reworked Grindor/Blackout but we can make names up for the other 2 then. I expect the green jet could be like the Botcon 2013 Skywarp.

Think I'll be going for a Vehicon version this time. Hopefully as Megs is the other toy that won't be too hard to find.

I got Megatron who does look good. Slight letting issues with this issue. Stinger is weilding Bumblebee battle mask onto his face & the speeck bubble is coming from Bumblebee when it should be off panel. This is the 2nd panel with letter error.
The art this issue does look rushed. Nothing to state why the 2-3 extra week betweens issues. Also you don't get a full pack of cards this issue - you just get 1 card.

Saw Issue 3 in the local WH Smith.
Didn't pick it up, done with this overpriced rag.

It's certainly not worth the asking price, and the story was rubbish. You could argue that it isn't aimed at adults and so therefore it won't appeal anyway, but the strips in this title are clearly aimed at an audience younger than the original G1 comic strips were aimed at. I can read the Marvel stories and enjoy them not just for nostalgia, but because they are entertaining stories. This Titan comic is just full of rubbish. I'm not even referring to the Furman epics of the golden years, but the early simple self contained stuff like Enemy Within had much more about it as a story than Stinger pretending to be Bumblebee.
Maybe it's a pointless comparison. It's a different time and place today.
To be honest I couldn't help wonder if it should really be a title based around Rescue Bots.

I had a look for #4 yesterday but couldn't see it. I think the free cards are just part of the normal set, not exclusives. I got Drift in car mode, which is numbered 131 and on the checklists shown at the bottom of this page

So Titan have decided that as of #3 the comic is now bi-monthly. So #5 is not 20/11/14 its now 18/12/14.
