Non Fun Trousers?
Naughty Finger Therapies?
Newly Furnished Truncheon?
Nightly Fudge Trip?
Negative Fixation Triumvirate?

Phil said! Non Fungible Token.
Basically a way of making digital content unique so it can keep a value rather than just being any old copyable file.

Thinking about where I bought Beast Wars toys led me to see how far back my own accounts ledgers run. Turns out they go back to 1997. Among the entries, I found that I spent £62 on Beast Wars toys in Hamleys in Feb 1998, so not all of mine came from TRU as I thought, and a month later I spent $36 on something BW at KB Toys in America via the internet, so Micron Legend Optimus Prime wasn't my first overseas Transformers purchase either!

What Basic BW figure did you buy? An older one I guess, as it must have been on clearance. Ho ho!

Basically a way of making digital content unique so it can keep a value rather than just being any old copyable file. Not strictly true, the digital content itself is still any old copyable file, just that you have assigned to your blockchain account the token that declares that you have rights to the reproduction/monetisation of said file.

I think I've been to Hamleys two or three times in my life, I know one time I got some MOTU figures when I was there very early on. I wish I'd recorded in my ledger what the BW figures were, but for me to buy them there they must have been ones that weren't in TRU or I thought I wasn't going to see anywhere else. Behaviour like that stems from the time I was visiting a penfriend in Norway in the mid-80s and found Swoop in a toy shop there. I was not letting that chance pass! The odd thing is having bought a figure from KB toys in America that early on. I don't remember doing that, but then I was buying import playstation games from a shop in New York via the net from around 1996 so I suppose it's possible. Wonder what that one was.

And thus it came to pass... With the first tweet NFT failing to resell for anything significant, evidence of artificial market inflation and various failed attempts to use nfts as a marketing tool which little uptake or secondary market, hopefully people have now realised the hype was nothing but just that.

I was blessed with an independent toyshop, a Zodiac Toys, Beatties, Woolworths, Argos, a WHS that occasionally had toys and a department store with a HUGE toy section. And then you moved away and they all had to close. Martin

Hamelys came and went Argos, a WHS that occasionally had toys and the department store relocated, the later reducing it's toy section. Entertainer materialised in the old WHS after several other occupants then moved, twice. John Lewis & TK Maxx appeared. Kingston is well down on specialist toy stores and the John Lewis has been of varying quality re TFs

When I was little, all the names largely are the same as recent times. Walmart, Toys R Us, KB Toys (I actually remember actionmasters still being in KB Toys Outlets along side Beast Wars). I don't remember ever going to Target when I was little. So I don't know if we didn't have one, we just didn't go, or if for some reason it doesn't imprint upon me until the nineties. But. But there was two differences. The Children's Palace. It was a massive toystore on the same scale as TRU. In fact in Mesquite, it was across the freeway from TRU, in the same shopping center as my local Target is today. My mom liked them over TRU because they had layaway. I'm pretty sure my TF collection would be a fraction of what it is without that. At least it probably wouldn't include the city bots. I remember getting Blaster there. Going in and handing the lady a few dollars every week, until she handed me my Blaster. I don't know if they were a big chain store, a more local/regional chain store, or if they were just a really big locally owned store, but I miss them. The other difference was a local department store... You know, the kind that just doesn't exist anymore because walmart national chain stores killed them all. It was called Seago's (because my home town is Seagoville). Most of my transformers (and gobots, and bone age, and definitely dinosaurs, and dinoriders) came from there. I have Optimus because my mom found him on clearance there. She told me once that she found megatron too, and always regretted not getting him. It's really sad that Walmart is the only one left on that list. Edit: Oh hey there's a wiki entry for Children's Palace: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_WorldIt's facade was built like a castle! How could I forget that?!?
