First I heard of this. What does this mean for mutant characters that have no real affiliation with the X-books? Firestar? The Richards children? I was kinda hoping that Marvel would use this Secret War event to reset titles like X-men out of the canonical narrative holes they've dug themselves into back to a place that's more of an iconic standard. But it seems more like they're keeping the difficult stuff and trimming the superficial stuff only. Also, words cannot describe how much it pisses me off that studio conflicts should impact the original books.

Think that might not happen now, as the previous editor of the X-books has left, and for a long while the x-books have been editorially driven (Morrison's run not withstanding) so who knows.

You may disagree but you are wrong.
At least Ramos draws his own stuff, rather than tracing from porn and wrestlers. Makes me so angry as once upon a time I liked Greg Land's work.

Seeing any page of Ramos' work featuring his twisted nightmare people, awful perspectives, poor anatomy and Pat Lee-minus dull surprise faces makes me a million times more angry than Greg Land's bland style. I honestly can't think of any artist whose work I dislike more than Ramos' stuff. My idea of hell would be a Gambit/Deadpool team-up book drawn by Mr Ramos!

Courtesy of a recent Comixology sale I've now read Death of Wolverine.
It was ok. Not great, but not a complete disaster either. I'm pretty sure the then current Wolverine writer, Paul Cornell, who'd written the 24 issue run in could have done a better job. In many ways it felt like it was written to a "let's see ow many elements of Wolverine's past we can squeeze in" recipe. And I really can't decide if I like the final ending or not.
So OK. But could have been better.

Read the final Amazing X-Men volume last week. OK, but the other two are better. Adjectiveless X-Men v5: The Burning World should be waiting for me when I return home tomorrow via an £8 eBay purchase. Bar the stuff running in Essential X-Men that's me up to date X-Men wise prior to Secret Wars

Burning World turned up today, good but not a patch on the earlier books. Also got round to reading Cyclops v2 which again wasn't as good as the earlier volume but seemed fun and looked very nice.
Ralph reminds me by text that Nightcrawler v2 sucked big time. Mind control and the Shadow King. Let it go Claremont!
