Getting pretty fed up with spam emails from TFCC about Botcon. Er, I signed up for a club not an entirely seperate convention. There seems to be no way to opt out of these messages. Into yahoo's spam filter they go!

Scuttlebutt is they've sent out 49,873 messages and a rival club has sent out 79,912, and they're competing as to who will be first to reach their next milestone ten thousand...

They should have done Drift in Deadlock colours if at all.

Saves me $50-60 next year at least unless I come up with a really good custom I need a red blurr for.
Kreo Prime matrix figure is rather nifty, shame they aren't being sold on there own, not usre I will want the larger lego robots.

Naturally, there is no news for members on the Club website. For that we have to turn to TFW2005. Good for them. Would seem to confirm that 'club toys' include Botcon toys. Which are not offered to club members for sale. F*** sakes! www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/conventions-15/botcon-2011-transformers-collectors-club-roundtable-172314/For one horrible moment there, I thought the prophecy had come true and Drift was the membership figure! Whether or not you find the actual membership figure which is clearly one half of a set (with the other figure being one of this year's two club figures) to be either cheeky or good business sense is up to you. I would err on the later side if figures weren't now selling out in 24 hours! -Ralph

I actually think this could backfire horribly, given they're advertising him pretty implictly as Deadpool (ie not outright but calling him a 'Merc with a Mouth'). Hasbro spend a lot of money on the licenses to make the Marvel Crossovers, and TFCC are pretty much trying to sneak one in under the radar.

Marvel Crossovers are dead, however.

I like the Battlechargers' new toys, but the wings look a bit odd on them (though by playing with Tracks for a couple seconds I've found out that I can lower the wings behind the arms to "hide" them

My 2nd issue of the mag arrived today. Folded in half, naturally. If a small-press fanzine (hello, Polaris!) can offer shipping in card-backed envelopes, why can't the Official Collectors Club?
Thoughts on the actual issue once I have read it.

Man I hope you take photos and complain about that. The amount that mag costs, you'd expect it to be wrapped in gold foil

That's odd, mine's never arrived folded in half, and I've been a member for...well 9 issues long! lol
maybe it's just your postal carrier that's being stupid or something? maybe you should complain to them as well?

I place no blame on the post. If a thin mag is put in a thin envelope with no board or backing, only chance and luck will stop it being mangled in the post.

I read it.
I...think I need to stop posting about the TFCC. I'm just not enjoying it and I know what to expect now. The magazine is poorly written and takes little advantage of access to Hasbro and is also inadequately packed for shipping, the members only website is rarely updated (last updated February), you have to wait a very long time (it will be around 16-ish months in my case) just to get one toy*, it's not designed as an 'international' club and is really just a bolt-on for Botcon.
Life is too short to waste on repetitive moans. I've done the club experience once. I gave it a go. End of story.
Go subscribe to Polaris. It's far cheaper, infinitely better made and you get a lot more bang for your buck. Also, it comes in card backed envelopes. It's even available in digital or paper editions.
-Ralph
*Which I may never get as I will almost certainly have moved house by then and to notify change of address you have to phone them during US day-time, which I can't do.

Like the rest of the TFCC UK members I don't yet have my Sideburn
I got the Transformers Collectors Club Sideburn update! email on 28/07:
So with DHL 2nd August, with Royal Mail 5th August. Now assuming we haven't been customed they should have been with us by the middle of last week. Even if we have the ransom demands should be with us by now.
Was there a dispatch email after this confirming they'd been posted? If so I didn't get one.
I've raised this with the club and am waiting for a reply.

Surely it can't be customed unless the club put the membership fee price as the value?
Turnbull did not get a dispatch notice.
In other news, Botcon AM Thunder is the first AA toy to be freed from the pile. So bright. So very bright.

They dont do dispatch emails for the club inclusive toy. Yeah I was trying to do the maths on the shipping info on the email and someone, somewhere should have gotten Side Burn by now. Probably just means FP have no clue whats going on as usual. Though theres always the possibility something has happened to them (just to be really pessimistic). And just to ramp up the stress, yesterday the club sold of the majority of its remaining figures so in the very unlikely event anything happens they only have a small number remaining to deal with loss and faults. But they always list them as samples with a value of $1 so no reason they should incur cuta.

They are saying there's reserve stock. How much we'll wait and see....

I know they almost certainly will have enough spare, but if they have (for example) 100 in reserve and 101 go missing, then the sale when it happened is going to look like a bloody stupid idea.
