Anyones else listen to 'em?
I have a 30 min drive to and from where I usualy work. So I need the distraction! Listened to all sorts from Star Trek Genesis to Proof to The Rats.
At the mo, I'm listening to a brilliant version of Time Lines, a novel by Micheal Crichton, read by Stephan Lang. Excellant, compelling story, wonderfully brought to life by Lang. Recommended by this reviewer!

I've got the first radio series of The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy and also Jeff Wayne's Musical version of The War of the Worlds on CD - do they count as audio books?

Just listened to 'Sherlock Holmes vs Dracula' which Andy threw in with Star Fleet, TF Animated and JL New Frontier. It was very well done, true to the style of Holmes and fitting nicely into the continuity of Bram Stoker's original novel.
I have a few cassette tapes of David Suchet reading Poirot, but most of my non-music CDs are Goon Shows.
The only remaining item in Andy's package yet to be evaluated (I've grabbed most of the Masterforce music from the soundtracks and ditched the rest), is a DVD of 2000 AD audio stories. Quite a lot of hours of audio action there. My knowledge of 2000 AD is limited to the Stallone movie, but I'll give the first one a go and see how I get on.

I bought my sister a CD Boxed set of the radio dramatisations of the Holmes stories for Christmas - the full-cast ones with Sir Ralph Richardson and Sir John Gielgud. I've only heard one of them myself but I quite liked it, and my sister says that they are very good. I am promised a loan of them in due course, which I look forward to. Karl

Harry Potter, all seven of them. By far the best way to experience the story. Fry's performance is perfect, all 100 odd hours of it.
I got Going Postal after Christmas, Tony Robinson isnt as good as Fry but his performance grew on me and at just 3 hours or so a bit les time consuming. There are some unabridged discworld novels I want to try too.
Next up will be His Dark Materials but Im not so keen on full cast performances. (though I wouldnt have minded a Potter movie cast read version of the unabridged books.) Hitchhikers guide is another I want to try.

Used to be mad keen on audio books but they are a tad too pricey these days in comparison to the pulped dead wood format so I rarely bother anymore.
