I was busy marathoning seasons 1 and 2 when the return started. So I got to binge watch the first 8 episodes as well. 8 is not an episode to reach at the end of a 35+ episode marathon. It nearly broke me.
Im really enjoying it, but I need some Cooper, stat.
Im shocked to say this, but it needs more of the Twin Peaks music. The original run overdosed on its soundtrack at times, which drove me mad, but I'm now missing it now.

Finally saw Fire Walk With Me.
So not as helpful as I had hoped, but probably about what I expected. I didn't expect Bowies appearance to be so short though.
On the whole it was pretty good. I really enjoyed the first half. But as it got closer to Twin Peaks first episode it got less and less interesting as it had all been covered during the series.
I do now want Cris Isaak or Keifer Sutherland to make an appearance. (and sadly given how much of the original cast is now gone - character killed, actor died or not interested in returning- it might be nessesary if the show comes back for another season)
Speaking off, this weeks episode was a bit of a hammer blow.

I liked the original Twin Peaks and rewatched it a few years ago when it was repeated on one of the satellite channels. Is the new one worth sticking with? I just watched the pilot and while it's fairly engaging I'm not sure I can cope with a whole season of random nonsense if there isn't actually a plot.

I would say yes as long as you can cope with
A: Sheer maddness. Quite a bit of the first two episodes are pretty screwy, almost as though he's challenging you to stay with it. One episode in particular later on is like no other episode of television I have ever seen before.
B: The majority of the original cast effectively being cameos in stories largely unrelated to the main plot (in fairness that was true for much of the original run too, but then the ongoing mystery was more closely intertwined through their stories)
C: missing Don S Davis like crazy.
But if you stick with it, the new characters and story arcs grow on you (well they did me).
