There were quite a few things muddled up: the Jumpstarters, Scorponok (though I think it was corrected). And, Ian, can you explain what happened to Cyclonus's, Hot Rod's, et al's powers when they became Targetmasters? WELL, CAN YOU?! HA HA HA!!! That's bonkers, isn't it! What happened to them? Scourge has lost the ability to fly! And Pretender Jazz?! What did he get demoted for? Pretender Grimlock's intelligence has plummeted! Bonkers. And Scorponok's 'wrong' techspecs is hilarious! Strength 3! Speed 9! Rank 3! What were they thinking?!

Yikes! This could turn out to be expensive if the rest of the range is done.
Nice idea, though.

I love Love LOVE the great Bob's original G1 Tech Specs. As a child, they were one of the reasons I became as obsessed with Transformers as I did. I think we should have a separate thread to discuss Tech Specs, of all eras.

To begin with. I'd like to discuss a couple of snippets from a couple of Tech Specs that popped into the old brain recently.
Firstly, Cyclonus's claim to, I think I've worded it correctly, "summon strength in direct proportion to his need". I've never had the foggiest what that actually means!
Secondly, why did Skids, a scientist, have so much weaponry? I have my theories.
Thirdly and finally, Megatron's remarkable ability to "inter-dimensionally link up to a Blackhole in space and draw anti-matter from it to use as a weapon". I love that ability! Quite awe inspiring, but little used or seen, sadly (has it been used recently?). I'd like the Hub scientist contingent to comment on that one. Would a Blackhole have anti-matter in it?

Megatron used the black hole first in Raiders of the Last Ark. Andy Ooooh I knew it. I just didn't want to stick my neck out without checking for sure. It was on a cover for that story too. Black swirls around him.

Yup, it was always an interesting idea, and sadly one that wasn't played with nearly enough.
When he was caught in the Space Bridge at the end of Issue 108 it was a shame they didn't try something with it then, or when he and Ratchet were bonded in that interdimensional portal...

Just reading Bumblebee's in Issue 7 of the UK comic. I don't think I ever knew that it specifically states he is the go to guy in the Autobot ranks for underwater salvage operations.
I've also just noticed that Ratchet is apparently a party animal and that having a good time can interfere with his effectiveness! er? Jazz maybe, but Ratchet?! when did that ever get used in the fictions?

That's always been a question in my mind too! Ratchet's partying! I find it odd, almost just stuck in there. Never seen it feature in any TF fiction I've read. Oh, and what the heck is a "Tool and Die man"?
Bumblebee's a good techspecs. "Goes where others can't, or wont", always sticks in my mind, as well as "Idolises the larger Autobots, especially Optimus Prime and Prowl". Never saw him idolise Prowl specifically. I found it interesting they picked Prowl out.

We never saw Ratchet party sadly. Though, you can imagine his tenure on earth would see him overworked quite a bit. There's a few tales to be told I'm sure. You get the feeling if The Ark had a bar, he'd be running it. Ratchet's tool and die skills - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tool_and_die_makerAndy

Would that be because Prowl was second in command? So it's the leaders that Bumblebee idolised? The thinkers, strategists? Wise ones so to speak?

Yes that's a good call chaps. Makes sense.
Mirage. I found the "unsure of Autobot cause. Can't be fully trusted" to be highly fascinating and thrilling. But I don't think ever been explored.

"Would rather read about jets than be one..."
My favorite Special Teams tech-specs quote (Skdive).
I also loved the fact Motor Master is obsessed with destroying Optimus Prime, and Dead End being sullen, fatalistic- yet vain.
