I remember a fuss being made of Rising Stars back in the day, when I was but a poor student whose budget just about made it to three monthly comics. However JMS recent* writing has put me right off, so I would need some convincing...

not on comixology but similar the humble bundle PDF comic bundle is Garth Ennis, you get about 17-18 TPB for $15 (£10.88 it cost me) including 11 TPB of The Boys one of his finest works. I looked at it. But it doesn't really contain much of the Garth Ennis I like. I find "The Boys" to be mean-spirited to the point of wanting to say "I get it, Superheroes are a ridiculous fantasy. I agree, and that's why I enjoy them, but if you don't like that sort of thing surely it would be easier to just not write about them?". But put him on something like Dan Dare, or his Battler Britain mini-series and his real talent shows. Love his War comics, not a fan of "The Boys" I'm afraid.

I loved it, but then again I quite(perversely) enjoy crossed, always feel a bit grubby and wrong for reading it but good stories nonetheless

Well, I just put my money down for that. Already have the Parker books but there are lots there I've heard good things about - Winnona Earp, Simonson's Ragnarok... I still have all my old The Maxx comics from the 90s, but having those digitally seems pretty good too.

Hmm. Only this morning sorting out my wants list for 2018 I decided to can the idea of following the IDW Dredd because I read City Limits and didn't feel the tone was quite right... But... Just over a tenner for almost all of the stories? Yeah, alright.
Mind you, being digital the chances of me actually reading them... Slim.
