I am not adding my own choices yet, because I got Arcee, Chromia, Cloud Hotrod, and Combiner Wars in the mail, and some may or may not influence my choices, or even arrive before '15.

Well here's my list so far. Somewhat limited as I actually haven't bought many TFs this year.

Best Hasbro: Legends Cosmos. Brilliant brilliant BRILLIANT update.

Best Takara: MP Wheeljack.

Best Generations: Legends Shrapnel. Finally giving us some decent G1 Insecticon updates. Generations Legends are wonderful all-round work by Hasbro.

Best Movie: N/A as Transformers 4 doesn't exist.

Best 3P: Brawny, despite his under crotch. Looks so good with other MPs.

Best Alt Mode: Legends Cosmos. Again, just brilliant. The little details.

Worst: Duneraker, iGear's Beachcomber. Resold. This figure was not Beachcomber. Terrible colour scheme, poor design. To go from Hench and UFO to this?

Most looking forward to: Combiner Wars and Apollyon. Giving us something we've desperately wanted, and (hopefully) doing it right!

Best Overall:

MASTERPIECE WHEELJACK! A masterpiece in every sense of the word. Keep these MP Autobot cars coming. Yes they have their faults (expense, cheaper plastics), but they're right up my alley.

So to clarify then, is this now *the* thread for the year, or will there be another one post 25th? cos we need to add the non-TF categories too. Also, is there a non-toy general best of the year type thread? I can't remember. For things like games, music, books, films etc?

I like both these sets of categories. They make you think in different ways.

'Cos I haven't bought many TFs I've found Jetty's original list the most relevant for me to use, so I'm sticking with my original list me thinks. (my problem is I can't always remember what I've bought in that year! I've also bought this year some of last years toys! What's a girl to do?!)

Best Takara: Don't think I have opened any Takara yet.

Best Exclusive: (store, convention, Cloud, et cetera) Hmm I suspect if I were to get it I would be saying Cloud Rodimus, but it is hard to ignore Botcon Scorponok, which is a genuinely good effort at making something really unique.

Best Generations: Hardest choice of the lot. I like so many of them. I think Rhinox, but Rattrap, Waspinator, Swerve, Armada Starscream, Jhiaxus and so many others are strong.

Best Movie:Still haven't opened any, but based on pictures Evasion Prime still looks great.

Best 3P: Ironfist, great little mould that properly captures his LSOTWs look.

Best Alt Mode: Rattrap?

Best Repaint: Jhiaxus or Platinum Prime.

Best use of a mold: Botcon Scorponok. Energon Scorponok to G1 Scorponok is an obvious but frankly slightly underwhelming concept, just look at Doublepunch for evidence, so full credit to FP for going a step further. It still not perfect, but it looks just right among a classics display.

WTF?!?: (so left field or messed up that you love it) er Botcon Scorponok as an actual Headmaster is certainly a candidate again. Jhixaus and the neon orange colour scheme. Or Platinum Prime

Best overall: Rhinox???

Worst- Goldfire Bumblebee, the mould continues to grow on me, but it does not make a good bumblebee.

Tankor's rubbish in tank mode. Windblade won't hold together in jet mode even before I look at it oddly. Those are the two real disasters this year.

Generations Rattrap. I really feel this is the best toy of the year. Spot on rattrap, neat beast mode, and better than most MPs.

Generations Nightbeat. A deeply flawed mold, terrible paint quality. Going from a porche to a muscle car is suuuuchba downgrade for the character, too. And they overlooked the one strength the mold had as nightbeat, being failing to give him a new chest, or at least painting it yellow.

Worst Deco:
Generations Jhiaxus. How could they get this soooo wrong??? And I wish people would stop saying it's the RiD deco, because it's not. Dayglo orange is soooo out of the blue.

Generations Arcee. Her anatomy is sooooo screwed up, her sculpting is terrible, and her deco fails to represent G1 as it's too different, and it fails to give us a new take as it's not different enough.

Worst overall:
Arcee. We waited nearly thirty years for this toy, and it's one of the worst molds ever made.
