1. Paddington 2. The Tale of Princess Kaguya 3. Big Hero 6 4. Shaun the Sheep 5. Inside Out: 6. The Terminator (re-release) 7 Sicario 8. Mad Max:Fury Road 9. Ant-Man 10. The Martian - feels like a fairly small, intimate, story which suddenly found itself with a huge budget to spend. But in a fairly good way. I like it's sense of humour, and the general sense of "work the problem, one step at a time". It never really develops a bite to it's sense of isolation unfortunately though. Decent, and a rare attempt to smuggle hard(ish) SF onto the cinema screens. 11. Mission Impossible:Rogue Nation 12. Fast and Furious 7 13. Kingsman 14. Avengers: Age of Ultron 15. Terminator:Genisys 16. John Wick 17. The Gunman 18. The Hobbit 19. Jurassic World

There is rarely any correlation between box office and whether a film is 'good'. It just shows what is popular (which is not necessarily the same thing). I'm sure we have all seen films which bombed that we really liked as well as huge hits which we thought were rubbish!
Can't give an opinion about the Jem film until I see it.

Certainly not a cinema trip for me, but if it has an eighties revival feel to it I'm in for a rental watch. Going to the cinema costs too much these days to be a casual trip. I am fully appreciative of the benefit of seeing films on a big screen, I studied film at university, but when it costs upwards of £25 for a couple to see a two hour film now it has to be something special or important.
Speaking of which, might go and see Spectre today.

Yes the cost of film going is rather high. If I didn't have access to a Cineworld to use their Unlimited card service I wouldn't be able to afford to go as often or to see as wide a variety of films.

Well you certainly make use of it! I'm in awe.
I did go to see Spectre today. Most enjoyable. I liked the way it managed to feel like a Craig era Bond as well as an old fashioned one, and drew together all his films so far very neatly. Evil villain secret lair hidden in a desert crater! Brilliant!
I think what they're doing with this series now is very clever. I'm still not quite sure that Craig is the Bond I see in my mind's eye when reading the Fleming books, but he's exactly right for these films.
That's set me up nicely to launch into Trigger Mortis now.

Instant and obvious recipe for a bomb. It's like if they made a Transformers film where Optimus Prime was the elderly manager of a gardening supply store, who was in love with Soundwave, who is the young pizza delivery girl. It might be the best film of all time but no-one's going to watch it.

Evil villain secret lair hidden in a desert crater! Brilliant! I agree. I don't care for either 'Casino Royale' or 'Quantum of Solace' as Bond films partly because of the re-boot but also because they seemed to be trying too hard not to cross the line into implausibility, which is where James Bond belongs. With the last two films, however, they've rediscovered the joy of not caring whether it could actually happen. Unlike 'Skyfall', 'Spectre' isn't up there in my top half dozen Bond films. But it is a Bond film, and a good one at that. Martin

It is very nicely shot (you can tell it shares a director with Skyfall) and has a strong opening. I can see what it's going for: an attempt to marry the more 'real world' asthetic of the Daniel Craig series with the more outlandish bonkersness that Bond films traditionally had prior to them. But it just doesn't work. I was surprised by how bored and disinterested I felt for long stretches of the film. I came out of Skyfall thinking that the series had been reinvigorated and had proven its worth in modern culture and could run another 50 years. I came out of Spectre thinking it was a tired old series after all and maybe should be put to bed. Time to call Martin Campbell again. 71: A Little Chaos. 72: Ex Machina. 73: Legend. 74: Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. 75: Tomorrowland: A World Beyond (IMAX). 76: The Transporter Refuelled. 77: Macbeth (2015). 78: Regression. 79: The Program: Workmanlike depiction of Lance Armstrong's fall from grace. It doesn't really dramatise the story in a way that brings anything to it that a documentary could but it does however have a very strong central performance which is uncannily like how Armstrong comes across in public appearances. 80: American Ultra. 81: The Legend of Barney Thomson. 82: The Divergent Series: Insurgent. 83: Far From The Madding Crowd (2015). 84: Crimson Peak. 85: Mississippi Grind. 86: Hot Pursuit. 87: Terminator: Genisys. 88: San Andreas. 89: Southpaw. 90: Self/Less. 91: John Wick. 92: The Gunman. 93: Chappie. 94: Blackhat. 95: Into The Woods. 96: Pixels. 97: Big Game. 98: The Falling. 99: Jurassic World. 100: The Last Witch Hunter. 101: Fantastic Four (2015). 102: Survivor. 103: Jupiter Ascending. 104: Pitch Perfect 2. 105: Trainwreck. 106: Pan.

I can't quite put my finger on why it didn't completely click with me but the subject matter is strong and it's very well put together with some effective sequences where animation is put to voiceovers. 76: Tomorrowland: A World Beyond (IMAX). 77: The Transporter Refuelled. 78: Macbeth (2015). 79: Regression. 80: Hotel Transylvania 2: Now I am not the target audience for this but it was surprisingly passable for what it is. Avoids many of the traps these type of films fall into. I doubt it will stick in my memory but it has some good gags and the monster characters are fun. 81: The Program. 82: American Ultra. 83: The Legend of Barney Thomson. 84: The Divergent Series: Insurgent. 85: Far From The Madding Crowd (2015). 86: Crimson Peak. 87: Mississippi Grind. 88: Hot Pursuit. 89: Terminator: Genisys. 90: San Andreas. 91: Southpaw. 92: Self/Less. 93: John Wick. 94: The Gunman. 95: Chappie. 96: Blackhat. 97: Into The Woods. 98: Pixels. 99: Big Game. 100: The Falling. 101: Jurassic World. 102: The Last Witch Hunter. 103: Fantastic Four (2015). 104: Survivor. 105: Jupiter Ascending. 106: Pitch Perfect 2. 107: Trainwreck. 108: Pan.
