Why, Ralph, WHY? I've taken an existing broken toy and made it better! No! You have changed the toy! It's not meant to be that way! -Ralph

If only Scorponok had 5mm fists so he could hold a vast array of different toy's weapons too!

Does this mean one of his claws is upside down?

Does this mean one of his claws is upside down? NO! The claws are symmetrical top to bottom with the screws going in from the inside! I am so so pleased with this!

K9 is an odd choice. I wonder if it's someone's preference, or if it means something is wrong with the Wolfang tooling? Ditto Cybershark. You'd have thought they'd have gone Dinobot/Rhinox first. I'm aware that some struggled to get Cybershark in the US, which puts a few points on his value as a rerelease. In the UK however he's one of the top ten shelfwarmers of all time.

It's a bit different. Putting non show characters isn't a surprise, and is what they should do. What's different is that K9 is the retool, and less popular/known version. I guess it's almost like choosing Lazorbeak or Buzzsaw before Terrorsaur or Waspinator? It's a weird choice that makes me wonder if the Wolfang tooling is viable anymore. (On a side note, I'm pretty sure both Waspinator and Dinobot are dead molds, and probably need to be remade from scratch. I'd not be surprised if they're waiting to see if the line sells well enough to justify the cost) This is the first I've heard of this. I don't remember him shelfwarming, but I also don't remember him being even remotely difficult for me to find.

I shipped a fair few west back in the day, he was the non show character that was always in demand.

I wonder if Takara canibalised existing moulds to make the cyber beasts and others, leaving fewer of the originals and over use for the 2006-7 reissues. I feel like this is the sort of thing I should know. Cybershark and K9 avoided that fate by not being reused since the 90s.

We've had all these molds in their original toolings, except Cybershark, since the cyberbeasts were made. The original toolings weren't damaged to make the new ones.
Heck, I think there are rumors that Dinobot had been used so much it had to be remade from scratch at one point.
But yeah, original K9 being a remold (and the only one at that) in a line that felt that one cat works just as well for a cheetah and a tiger is so weird that it's worth noting.

I meant what if there were originally 3 toolings for Wolfang, but then one was modified for K9 and then another for MaxB. The final unmodified tooling was then used for the 2007 telemocha line and which point it gave up. So no Wolfang in 2022 Repeat for Dinobot, waspinator and Cybershark, except Cybershark will go kaput this year or next instead of 2007.

I'm not sure that tracks with things we've seen, but I don't know enough about how the toys are made to put up a valid reason why not, so I'll go with what you said!

I was unaware until tonight that Terrorsaur and Lazorbeak are two completely seperate, unique molds.
Terrorsaur was used to make Fractyl and AoE Strafe Lazorbeak was used to make Hydra and Dinobot Swoop/Terranotron.

According to wiki, it's not a modification, which would just be the retool I always thought it was. But that it's an entirely different mold, even with proportional differences. It's just... Wow. As deeply invested in BW as I am, there's still new things to learn.
I'd never put Terranotron with Terrorsaur or Strafe before, and I never had Hydra until just recently.
