What kind of cannon is the cannon formed by G1 Megatron's gun-sock and silencer?
It's an AWESOME weapon! And deserves recognition!!!
Megatron's arm cannon is his FUSSION cannon. He inter-dimentionally links upto a black hole to draw anti-matter to use as a weapon... There's no mention of the combined cannon...
WHAT KIND OF CANNON IS HIS BIG CANNON?!
.....and why wasn't it EVER shown in fiction....

Instructions! I hadn't thought they may provide an answer!
.....Particle Beam cannon then, surely....

The day one of my reissue Micromen met my reissue 16-S was a glorious one.
Phil needs a new reissue Megatron.

Yep, I always wondered why the end of the particle beam cannon looked like it had a seat - especially given none of the original G1 TFs were poseable enough to actually sit on it...

So, we're saying it's a Particle Beam cannon, right?
It never did appear in fiction, did it?

The instructions say particle beam so it must be that.

do all g1 megatrons have the hole for inserting the missile? i was under the impression that it was retooled in europe so that the firing mechanism was completely removed, but i've got one here (an mb made in france megs) that has the loading apeture in place and was surprised.

I believe the hole is there on all Megatrons but the mechanism is gutted/rendered useless on the 1984 version. It's been many years since I held a 1984 Megatron in my hands but Phil needs a new reissue Megatron. That took a while and contributes to but isn't all of Despite not going to TFN I may be in hoc to the Fu for a couple of hundred quid

Megatron is such a truly amazing figure. Mine is floppy as f*ck these days but still one of my favourite geewuns. What I love is that the G1 toy is so different visually to all the representations of him in media except the Ladybird books that he is absolutely the toy of the Ladybird continuity. The one true continuity.

Hey, don't forget 'The Enemy Within', 'Raiders of the Last Ark', 'Plague of the Insecticons' and 'And There Shall Come a Leader'. Martin

Glorious tales from the halcyon British days predating the dominance of the US 'character model'.

Which is exactly why I'm after the Missing Link Prime, and want more of those - I want poseable action figures from the One True Continuity!

I would quite like a modern Brawn with the original toy head and mad square claws of death. Just add a wee bit more articulation and job done.

yeah, the mechanism is definitely gutted. i wish i had seen a megatron or two back in the day but they were rare as rocking horse poo. Oh I don't know, I think there were much worse. Megatron missed out in 1984 but was in the Argos catalogue in 1985 before the toy was withdrawn early in 1986. Relatively short window and at peak demand. I was blessed with an independent toyshop, a Zodiac Toys, Beatties, Woolworths, Argos, a WHS that occasionally had toys and a department store with a HUGE toy section. Most of them had Megatron at some point. Trying to get it after mid 1986 was a nightmare. I inherited a damaged one from a friend which went in my early 96 clearout. I bought the 2002ish original box reissue, which went in the wedding clearout of 2004, replaced by the TFC which went in another clearout a few years later. And just this last weekend the Fu got me an new TFC Megatron :-)
