A recurring theme with me is how I dislike TF comics with too many humans in.
Early Dreamwave and IDW issues are a good example as are recent RID issues.
Which got me thinking...
what are people's favorite TF stories with humans in them?

The Infiltration arc, easy. Best fewmans ever in Verity, Jimmy and Hunter, and Koska, Dante and Agent Red make for engaging antagonists. I really wanted to see where the fascimile presidential candidate was going...
Curse you, McCarthy...

"Shooting Star" "Robot Master" The stuff with Cindy and Ultra Magnus. "Dinobot Hunt:Part 1"
And of course, "Man of Iron" - probably my favourite Transformers story with humans in.
Those are the initial ones that spring to mind.
I'd probably put the "Escalation" series from IDW on the list as well.

Man of Iron, no question.

Yes, Man of Iron is great not because Sammy is a particularly interesting character, but because as has been said many times, it's the only human perspective story that makes the Transformers feel genuinely alien.
Apart from that I like the stories Furman was weaving around the 85/86 US comic. Icarus Theory and In The National Interest I think are strong examples. Prof Morris is an overlooked human character with a bit of depth. I liked him more than Circuit Breaker.

Man of Iron and The Icarus Theory and In the National Interest were some of the strongest tales with humans in them. Professor Morris was indeed an overlooked character, shame he died in that sealed bunker.
Have a soft spot for the early US run up to Issue 12/UK40.

Everything Andy said plus Bob Budiansky's Headmasters mini-series.
And that's basically my favourite TF comics full stop. Humans done right in TF stories = best TF stories.
(As for cartoons - just Masterforce.)
Martin
PS Do we know Morris died???

Nothing to suggest that he was freed by the Dinobots at any point and even when Centurion was rebuilt during Ancient Relics there was nothing mentioned about Morris and with Centurion's apparent death at the end of that story. Yes, but the last we saw of him he was in talking to Swoop via mind link. They fought Galvatron together at the end of 'Fallen Angel'. Why suppose Swoop left him to his fate?
Edit: Also, I thought he was sealed in from the inside, not the outside. Weren't Triple-I trying to get in to him, then gave up and left?

We've seen Swoop lie to cover things up before, maybe he didn't want the rest of them to know he'd been a puppet of the humans.
Also if they managed to breach that bunker and save Morris, what then? He would surely have been around as they couldn't risk leaving him to III's tender mercies. Does that mean he was maybe inside Centurion a la Robot Buster?
Intriguing possibilities...

Nah, Morris is the remote control genius. Not his style to go physically into the field.
Maybe he did bury Triple-I in the end as he vowed, him and Donny Finkleberg together. I think Triple-I vanished from the scene after US #39.
Edit: And as I said, I think he was free to leave the bunker, he sealed himself from the inside to keep Triple-I out.

Him in the field would be out of character, but if they did free him where did he up sticks to? Did he have a room on the Ark? Also why didn't Grimlock order a new Centurion to be built after Ancient Relics if Morris was still alive? You do think that somehow Ethan Zachary would have sought out Professor Morris at some point as well, given he had access to Floppy Prime's memories. Andy

I've checked the issue in question. Morris wasn't locked in, he had locked Triple-I out. He could leave any time. Triple-I shouted that the police would be waiting when he came out, but I dunno if they really would be. If nothing else, I'm sure he came out when he ran out of food. Prison better than starvation... and then an aerial prison break by a flying Dinobot.

Simply for the technology and data that would be available, and to ensure that nothing of their involvement gets out. Andy

I suspect that Triple-III were no longer around by the time that Morris emerged - and I suspect he was met by a good Company Man who negotiated a certain detente - I suspect Morris disappeared into a comfortable house arrest, protected by his "insurance documentation" and Langley in return didn't push him too hard. I suspect that he lived out his days in reasonable comfort dribbling out a tiny bit of information about his technology at a time.
Not entirely convinced that Swoop would have gone back for him - I think Swoop's dislike of being manipulated and controlled would have got the better of him I fear.

What of Centurion though?
How does he have distinct personality if Morris isn't there? I doubt there was another facility with III.
I do think there are some interesting plot threads that could be picked up with Centurion, up to and beyond his ignominious dumping in the Decepticon's Fortress Base. If it made the news why didn't Grimlock go after him? We know he was in his mental phase in the US at that point but he has always been loyal to those who have been loyal to him.

He was in his grumpy mad teenage years and outgrown the toy 'stick' he'd picked up when out in the wilds on an adventure once?
