I just can't bring myself to care. DK2 was just too bad for me to want more.

I will make you read DK2 again.
If I had to watch Bigfoot and the Muscle Machines and have those shitty Who spin-offs to endure...

That was different. I was exposing you to things you had not seen before.
I've read DK2 before. It is beyond awful.

Yep. If Miller isn't writing III but doing IV then who gives a toss about III now?

Well he did the storyline and is at least doing a few covers and the first mini-comic thing.

Does this mean you can stand down from buying all 4 million covers?

Grabbed the digital version of Issue 1.
Really enjoyed it, FM's art was pretty good in the Atom mini comic bit. The twist at the end of the main story was obvious but it was still enjoyable fun and Kubert and Janson work well together.

The Disposable Heroes Bisley variants arrived today.
Reread the comic, still enjoy it, nothing groundbreaking but I like where it's going.

Up to 3 on the HC.
The latest Universe tale was John Romita Jr breakdowns and Miller finishes.
I liked it, but I can see it being something of an acquired taste.

The Dark Knight Returns: The Last Crusade is out today.
Romita Jr on art, with Steigerwald doing what looks like digital inks and colours and it works, he's riffing on some of Varley's palette choices but not slavishly. The story sees an aging Batman struggling with keeping up with the role, while Jason Todd is not quite up to the role in his eyes. It's not too dissimilar to how it played out in the main DCU back in the day, although Jason is a lot less belligerent, and we don't really see his point of view as it's all coming from Bruce.
The Joker is an unsettling creature throughout.
It's a story that didn't really need to be told, if we are being brutally honest but it's done well and seeing JRJR on Batman is never a bad thing.

Is this still going?
I see the original Dark Knight has been punted out in 2 new editions: a giant 'Gallery' edition and a slipcase with four hardbacks inside.
