I think that Apeface & Snapdragon (if released) could be remodel Silverbolt - with SD being more Skylynx.

Looking at Skylynx makes me think Snapdragon with seeing that other thread about Chromedome from Deadend. But no post about any Snapdrgaon toy at all - but if they are redoing one CW toy they could get away with using that toy for a remodel? But note Snapdragon is not stated in the line at all by Hasbro - just guess work.
How I would redo Skylynx to make Snapdragon. Takes off the front legs & make the shuttle look more like a blackbird yet but turning it grey. Have the wings fold down onto the sides to form battle armour for feet & have 2 small fold out arms. Can have all the CW sockets removed from the toy. The back legs which form the dragon legs fold forwards to make the robot legs & the upper jet mode is the back. Extra set of robot arms need to be somehow hidden under the jet - but might look weak looking because not too much space. The Lynx head would be removed & have a fold out section for titan master slot.

The gun in the picture to me looks modelled on Astrotrain's original G1 one. I hope there's enough remoulding to make the train actually look like a train.

There is: look at the picture, the feet are now the other way round giving it a more bullet train appearance.

That'll do. Although a stream train wouldn't go amiss. What have Americans got against stream engines that we never get any as Transformers. Too old I suppose.

This weebo guy needs to fuck off and we should stop giving him the oxygen of publicity. -Ralph You're making a couple of assumptions here: 1) It's the Weibo user that's making the alterations to the pictures. For all we know they could be just reposting what they're getting from their mate and they received it in that altered state. 2) That there isn't a good reason for altering the pictures, IE to remove an identifying watermark that could be traced back to wherever the origin was. We know Hasbro has been sharing stuff behind the scenes and if they thought someone was leaking stuff they'd be stupid notto insert watermarks identifying which person/organisation the image was meant for. Personally I think there's a good chance it could be some massive Hasbro tease, ala Sihlouettes, in the run up to Toyfair! Either way it's not the user we're interested in it, it's the new info in the pictures.

It's not a Hasbro tease. This is not how their marketing works. This is just some prick wanting attention and we're giving it to him. I don't accept that everything has to be 'news' in this 'I want it NOW' culture we now live in. What would people rather have? Lots of nice high-res pictures etc from the people who work hard to make these toys or slivers of desaturated bits of photos from some wanker who has fuck all to do with it? It's just as much stealing from other people's work as the whole third party TF toy market is. People mak these nice bits of box art etc then some arsehole comes along and steals them and we give them lost of hits on their site.

He hasn't got a site it's a weibo user. Weibo is a chinese microblogging site, similar to Twitter or FB. The initial posting site is all but inpenterable to western usersdueto being in Chinese! It appears there and gets copied elsewhere.
I very much suspct as well these will dry up after this week and toyfair.

I agree with Ralph that's it a tedious thing to do, but I disagree that it shouldn't be considered news. at the end of the day, this is still 'Astrotrain confirmed for Titans Return'. I could happily live without it, especially since we haven't even had the first use of this figure release yet, and that was revealed last summer. It's hard to get and stay excited for these things when there's so long a wait between seeing and owning. Now, if it were like, the next wave is revealed when the current wave goes on sale, that would be different.
As to Astrotrain himself, I'm not sold on him. Nor was I on Sentinel. Back with Sentinel it was like, that doesn't feel quite right but I guess it's so they can do Astrtrain as well so there's an understandable compromise. But now Astrotrain is revealed and the head, wings and feet are the only things that really feel like Astrotrain, so I frown and go 'hrrrrm' at both.
It DOES make me want Blitzwing more, though.

Okay, been looking up G1 Astrotrain and I *guess* there are more similarities that I thought, and I was completely wrong about the feet, but still... it feels off.

Star Saber always looked a bit Gundammy though. He wears his influences on his big white turret-bedazzled sleeves.

Indeed! Star Saber absolutely channels the original Gundam/Mark II/Zeta/Double Zeta lineage to a huge degree.
Not that it is entirely surprising that some influence from the franchise would trickle through somewhere, given the stature it steadily accumulated.

So wave 2 so far
Titanmasters: Apeface, Chromedome & ?
Legends: Rumble, Ravage and Wheelie
Deluxe: Brainstorm, Mindwipe & ?
Voyager: Astrotrain and Alpha Trion
Leader: Soundwave
Couple more deluxes and Titanmasters and we'll be there. It'll be interesting to see if we get to see anything beyond this wave, and Fort Max, at Toyfair at the weekend.

Okay, I'll hold my hands up and admit I was wrong. Not impressed, but still wrong. Another Brainstorm so soon seems crazy to me, given how low a tier character he is. The upper half will need to do a LOT to wow me here. But given that it looks like his nosecone is going to be an arm-mountable weapon, I don't see much care for accuracy, which the T30 had.

Post by Pinwig on Feb 9, 2016 22:59:07 GMT
I'm for this. I don't think the T30 Brainstorm would fit aesthetically with this line, and he's too big. If we're getting a range based on the Headmaster gimmick then it should at least eventually give us the Four Warriors from the Sky in the same scale. To me that's the essential, anything more than that is a bonus.
Whether it actually happens is another matter though!
