It's also too modern for the Epic Collections.

I like the first mini. Then the point of the Sentry is done. Everything after is ever-diminishing returns. You know what? I'm beginning to -half- agree with you. Bendis couldn't handle him. But Dark Avengers was interesting, Bob getting manipulated by Osborn... Then Siege...

The problem with The Sentry is being quite clearly a DC analogue character (a la Squadron Supreme) he is an uncomfortable fit in the Marvel Universe, and his central conflict has been done better with other characters - Hulk in the Marvel U. He's owes a lot to Captain Marvel(DC and Miracleman) so there's not much original.
Couple that with them pushing that he was the best of the Marvel U by telling us. Show don't tell.

Interesting points, Boss, to be sure.
I don't read Marvel anymore, but at the time I did, a period spanning New Avengers through Siege, it was fun to have an "Oh Shit!" powerful but weird character. But I think they pushed it too far.
For me, Sentry ended (well imo) with Siege. I re-read the recent Man of Two Worlds set after Dr Strange brought him back and... it's weak, to be honest.

I saw a loose The Sentry action figure at a comic con event today. I did not buy, because The Sentry is rubbish.
