TRU Exclusive...though no one seems quite sure if it's an MP-03 repaint or the new MP-11.

If it's the new mold, hopefully they get rid of the cape and crown. It's okay for Starscream, but looks silly for anyone else. Though it's about time my boy finally got a US release. Screw Skywarp! He's a bland and boring character with no personality, and a very unimaginative colorscheme! Why's he always get so much love, over the fairly complex Thundercracker?
Eh, doesn't matter which mold to me. I have the original release. Don't need this one. Great for those who didn't get a TC already, though.

Whichever mould is used, there can be only one colour scheme for this toy!

Trying to work out if it's worth grabbing one to replace the hand on my Japanese TC, which came with missing fingers. Chances are good that it is...

What's the differences between the old Strike Plane MP mold and the new mold?

What's the differences between the old Strike Plane MP mold and the new mold? The early releases have slightly curved pieces on the side of the fuselage in fighter mode to represent the conformal fuel tanks that you see on F-15's these days. The new mould doesn't have these and is flat-sided. The older mould had the tail booms detach from the legs and swivel back at the hips like scabarded swords, whereas I believe that the tail-booms stay attached to the legs on the new mold. I think that the way that the stabilisers fold at the ankles is slightly different as well. I may well have missed other differences - I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than myself will be able to shed light there. Karl

Is there anyone more knowledgeable than The Kaptain on the subject of planes?

There are certainly folk whose knowledge of Masterpiece Transformers far outstrips mine, and that knowledge is probably more relevant at this juncture.....

Then I have a question: what type of plane is best: blue or red?

Then I have a question: what type of plane is best: blue or red? There is no absolute superiority there, it is a situational variable. It depends on the colour of your flight suit. Red co-ordinates better with green/olive drab but clashes horribly with orange for example whilst you should never mix a blue flight suit and a blue 'plane., so what is best in one situation is not necessarily so in another. In general though, as mostly you will be wanting to coordinate with either green or olive drab then the red plane is statistically better over the long haul. Karl

That is one of the most beautiful examples of 'daft question -> straight answer' I have ever seen. Well done Mr Thurgood.

Ah, Mr Thundercracker, I've been expecting you. Mwahaha. This'll be a Hasbro Asia exclusive and I reckon it'll be landing in January:
Jan 2014: Asia exclusive MP11 Starscream Jan 2015: Asia exclusive MP11 Skywarp Jan 2016: Asia exclusive MP11 Thundercracker
Excellent news. Finally I can complete the set. It'll be expensive, the Skywarp was silly money, but it won't cost any more than buying a MISB Hasbro US MP11 Thundercracker does currently. Watch the price on those ones tumble now...
Edit: Okay, so it's a TakaraTomy Mall Japan 2000 pieces limited edition and not an Asia reissue type... I wonder if that means he'll be available in other territories as a non-limited edition. Makes no sense for Hasbro Asia to do Starscream and Skywarp but not Thundercracker. Omegalock are saying they're not going to carry this, which creates something of a quandary on the how to obtain it front. This one's going to be the most expensive of the lot isn't he...

I've run out of kidneys already.
Omegalock have backpedaled and are looking into it and Kapow are getting it too. It will be mine. He's he only 84 'Con I don't have an MP of and I really would like all the strike planes in the new mould.

I'm hoping this will put a dent in the price of the Hasbro one on the secondary market.

I would hope so. In fact given my collection is aimed at toy accuracy rather than cartoon I should be looking at that one because it's a darker blue.

There's THREE: Original MP-7 Thundercracker, repaint of MP-3 Starscream. He has his own thread at tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/6504/MP-thundercrackerThen there's the TRU MP Thundercracker, repaint of MP-11 Starscream, the second Masterpeice Strike Plane design. He wasn't released in Japan. Now there's this which effectively is a Japanese repaint of that toy.

Especially with Apollyon to growl at them.
One day we'll have a full rosta of 84s at MP. That'll be a day to celebrate.

Apollyon completed my Decepticon 84ers. It is magnificently nostalgic. Loads of gaps in the Autobot ranks though.

A different shade of blue.
A wasted opportunity. There is only ONE colour scheme...
