Thanks for the welcome. I am a bit of a mad collector so I often have a MISB and display out of box version. I only decided to collect CHUG in March having only had g1 reissues and MP until then. I have since pretty much completed CW, POTP, TR, Siege, and what there is of Earthrise. I have been selling off my LOTR and other Transformers to fund it. There is no way I can afford two sets so it was time to open and play :-D

Spent the first part of the morning gutting the plastic trays out of Earthrise boxes for retail deluxe and voyagers, flattening them and stashing them in larger boxes.
I'm going to get the earlier Earthrise dlx & Voyagers and the Siege ones out the loft and gut & flatten them too.
In book news the arrival of West Coast Avengers Epic 3 has finally rendered my WCA hardcovers redundant so I've pulled them - all five - off the shelves. I can get rid of volumes at the end of a series, but volumes at the start need to wait till all in the series have been released in my preferred format. I also pulled the WCA Visionquest, Avengers: Heavy Metal and Hulk Byrne floppies off the shelves in anticipation of their imminent Epics release

I’ve been thinking about ditching my WCA omnibuses in favour of the epics (apart from the Byrne one), after having ditched the HCs in favour of the omnibuses way back when, but I’m starting to wonder how much energy I am expending over the years in the name of maintain printed collections of West Coast Avengers comics...
Also plan on recycling my Earthrise packaging this week, though I’m torn on whether to bother keeping the map parts. I’m not going to get them all anyway, and I didn’t realize that the micro masters also had map parts until today, and those backing cards are long since recycled.

Just to be clear: I did have to slit the tape on the sides of the boxes and pull the tabs out to do it, but effectively the right angled side is just another top/bottom flap with extending tabs.

Standard Siege boxes fetched from the loft for flattening.
When was it we tidied up there and put the shelves in? Because somehow it's a complete mess again now.
So looking forward to when I can get the chums in and we can clear lots of it

Standard Siege boxes fetched from the loft for flattening. And done for Deluxe and Voyagers. Two deluxe survive intact - Ratchet and Bluestreak - plus Voyager Soundblaster. Flattened boxes all fitted in Omega Supreme's box Tempted to do the leaders next. And flatten the Prime Wars Voyager and Leader boxes: cards are long gone

Operation: Fix the bed has triggered an Objects in Motion weekend. A new deep Ivar has been erected in Liz's room. Between the uprights at the bottom are three longboxes. Resting on them is a shelf, not secured, which is helping to spread the weight of the three more long boxes on top of that. On those are two combiner boxes. Over that will be a shelf secured to the upright and on that will be the other two combiner boxes covered by another shelf which will take the remaining crates from my room. As part of this a reconnaissance party has been sent into the loft to do a major tidy, stand the Christmas tree bag up out of the way and sort the long term loose storage boxes into order: TOP1 Beast Wars
2 Beast Wars Transmetals & Transmetals 2
3 Beast Wars II and Neo
4 RiD and Movie toys
5 Unicron Trilogy
6 Generations BOTTOM The Beast Wars box has been retrieved for browsing but I can now get my probe droid to retrieve specific boxes on demand now the path to them is cleared and we know which is which. We also retrieved the two spare plastic trays from the loft which formerly held Christmas decorations. One of them will become a long term storage box for the War for Cybertron trilogy enabling me to clear out all Siege toys supplanted by Earthmode ones. That will free up some cupboard space. My spare POTP deluxes can go into the Generations box as there's plenty of space in there. Need to have a look in the cupboard and see what else can go into long term storage as I'm sure there is some stuff there I don't *REALLY* need to hand As part of this we discovered the broken side of the bed was resting on one of the CW boxes and it did a very bad thing when I removed it. Side is now properly supported and should hold till the general all purpose Dutchman can summoned. So a busy and productive day. L and I V pleased, but my body is now going NO in a big way!

A new deep Ivar has been erected in Liz's room. Is he related to Sven? Humph would be pleased. Boxes and storage are taxing me again at the moment. I'm in the middle of a major loft rearrangement to try and order everything up there, but today I got back into the archive at my parents' house for the first time in god knows how long, only to find there are nine very large boxes of TFs there that had been moved out of my house in readiness for the aborted house move of 20, er 18? 19? can't remember now. Nine is more than I thought. I was thinking five at the most. These are very large boxes (large enough to store about three Legends Fort Max boxes inside). I think I need a root and branch reassessment of what the hell I'm doing with all this stuff. I could probably help myself by opening everything and getting rid of all the packaging but that would be a mission in itself. Since massively regretting selling a few G1 TFs in the 80s I've always told myself I won't discard toys again as I'll come to regret it at some point, but, well, it just doesn't all fit any more.

Or he has nothing!
We've been doing a slow re-arrangement here, also. Very slow, given I don't have much time, but equally we no longer have much space in the house. Most of Jo's Transformers have remained in the packing boxes that they arrived in, stacked in the dining room, waiting for our fabled extension to be built (delayed by slow architects who produced plans that no-one wanted to build and which are too expensive, leading us to commission a second set of plans which were then derailed by the pandemic). Finally realising that we needed some space back in the house since this home working thing was no longer going to be temporary and I need to erect a work desk somewhere, I've started moving them into proper plastic boxes so we can do... something with them. So far we have 7 138-litre boxes, which just about holds most of Jo's stuff - we'll probably need another 5 or 6 more to hold mine. And then I can try and figure out exactly what I'm doing with my life...

And children also have a habit of eating space. Be warned!
What's your loft like for storage? Boarded? I presume you can climb a ladder better than me?

My loft is essentially non-existent - my house is essentially a bungalow, but with the bedrooms and bathrooms in the roof. There is some eave space, but not a lot of it. I do, however, have a decent-sized basement, which is why I'm moving the toys into plastic boxes, because the basement is where I think they'll be headed.

The Beast Wars box has been retrieved for browsing but I can now get my probe droid to retrieve specific boxes on demand now the path to them is cleared and we know which is which. We also retrieved the two spare plastic trays from the loft which formerly held Christmas decorations. One of them will become a long term storage box for the War for Cybertron trilogy enabling me to clear out all Siege toys supplanted by Earthmode ones. That will free up some cupboard space. The WFC box is filling nicely as I go through the tray in my cupboard but the other tray has been filled already, with the RiD2015 toys which turned up in a crate in the corner of the room, and returned to it's slot in the loft. Mad coloured Primus hs come out of his drawer in the cupboard. I was going to loft him but now I see him he again is radio and is likely to stay out. The commanders, TR Tape decks and tapes have moved up in his place: one drawer lower down and easy to reach freed up. The Legends have been tidied into three piles: the tapes are with the tape decks, as above. The superseded toys, those with newer or better versions, are in a small tray destined for the loft. The unique Legends are in a small drawer under my desk. Curry-Gar is AWOL!!!! The CW spares are also in a small tray destined for the loft. Two drawers freed up. Into one of them goes the BW (pre TM) loft tray so I have it's cntents to hand over the next few months. The other will be used to get the Earthrise toys off the shelves.

I don't like taking shelfies normally as my library is long and thin, and the right hand side is occupied by my son's desk for home education. That and the bad light makes taking pictures in there difficult. And I'm a very **** photographer! Not to mention the various detritus that tends to accumulate on the front of the bookshelves. But this weekend has seen a major milestone achieved. Some of you may remember that when the chaos bug struck last March I was in the middle of having some building work done to let me get a wheelchair in the house. As a result of the need to do the work my lounge was emptied of CDs and DVDs which were piled into the library in front of the trades. When we got back into the house post work we discovered that some of the shelves had gone AWOL so for the last 16 months most of my trades have been imprisoned behind a wall of DVDs. On Friday & Saturday the replacement shelves in the living room went up. By Sunday lunch the boy (heavy lifting) and I (project management and the ability to know Dark Side of the Moon comes before Wish You Were Here) had got all the CDs and DVDs out revealing the hidden glory. So while everything was (relatively) clear we triggered a major move round. The Wisdens went down the end of the room into a space the CDs had created and allowed the Epics to spread out onto SIX Ivar shelves: 1 Ant-Man-Avengers 2 Black Panther - Defenders 3 Doctor Strange - Iron Man 4 Hulk - New Mutants 5 Power-Man & Iron Fist - Venom 6 Wolverine - X-Men I can remember when they all fitted on one shelf (cries) The general Marvel trades shelf spread out to SEVEN shelves: 0 Star Wars & DC 1 Marvel Misc 2 Avengers Character solo books 3 Avengers 4 FF, Spider-Man and the start of X-Men 5 more X-Men 6 other X-Books (The numbers are lowest at the top and match to the adjacent Epic shelves) I'm hoping that I won't have to do that again for a bit - as you may be able to see various boxes have been included to prop the "room for expansion" gaps up on the Epic shelves. But I know that top Ant Man ASM Avengers shelf doesn't look great already and there's 2 book missing off that in my room and SIX additions incoming (ASM 6 & 26, Avengers 6, 26 & 20, AWC 5) we may have to look again next spring. Included are pics of my media shelves - the longer CD shelf and 3 shorter DVD shelves were added this last weekend - plus the Transformer Titans we had to pull out the way to get to the end of the room and need to be returned before the Mrs gets home from her 3 day break!
