Over the last weekend, with the assistance of Mr Burns, the next stage of "Clear the loft of joy" got underway. A sizeable amount of old technology and leads was removed to be recycled/tipped/given away. Unfortunately there was a similar amount that the weekend's operatives were unable to spot. This evening a crack commando team was dispatched into the loft. The remaining technology was located roughly where I thought it was but concealed with a large pile of large (empty) Lego boxes. Jonathan (bringing tonight's haul down) "How much stuff have you got up there Dad?" I don't think he'd seen that bit of the loft lit and with the Lego boxes cleared before! Thanks to those who assisted tonight. Now we need to *REALLY* get down to business. Next stage I think is the Star Wars toys and modern Lego (inc SW - keeping Trains and classic Lego). And for that I will need the chums. Most of the larger SW stuff is stored under the eaves at the back of the house and we'll need to move stuff to get to it but we can move stuff now. The Lego is scattered round the loft. I'm hoping the Fu team may be able to assist in moving it on. Then it will get harder. GI Joe, Microman and Zoids will probably be the next things to get assessed.

If Phil just gave me his Grand Galvatron he would clear loads of space.

Had our homegroup from church in for dinner last night. First time we've all assembled in person and the first time some of them had been here.
Months ago I'd logged a comment by one of them that they were an X-Men fan. So before he left I showed him the library and got a "wow!" out of him as his mind was blown!

<SCREAMS> WHY IS MY BEDROOM 3 INCHES TOO NARROW??????????????????????
Liz bought a double Billy to go between my bed and the existing double Billy.
I looked at the gap and didn't think it would fit
So we got one of he single Billys moved in.
I looked at the gap between that and the bed and thought we could nearly get another one in ..... or swap that out for the double if we move the bed over a few inches.
So we got it moved.....
and now the Wardrobe doors don't have clearance to open full so the trays won't slide and we'll have to get the bed moved back!!!!!!!!!!!
<SCREAMS!!!!>

For space reasons only 'special' packaging is kept these days. Most packaging goes straight to recycling. Keeping all the boxes would mean less space for toys!

So far I keep the Takara boxes, the MP boxes and the Primitive Skateboarding box. And even that is too much.

I had gone back to keeping generations boxes after throwing out all the Siege ones because the ER figures feel to me like they will be 'the one' in many cases and they deserved their boxes. But then I had a big loft rearrange and realised that keeping them all would take significant space and I binned them all except for exclusives. And Commanders/Titans because those toys stay in their boxes anyway.
I'm less inclined to keep the Kingdom boxes because there's no easy way to fit the figure back in the box once it's out anyway. Certainly though, I keep exclusives and Japanese boxes and anything Animated backwards.

Having spent several hot days in the loft this summer reorganising and sorting toys, I drew a plan yesterday to record what is where now it's all done. There are 79 boxes of toys in my loft!

Chucked out dozens of boxes in recent reorganisation and a few dozen more will be following soon. They take up space where toys can go.

*Recounts*
There are 73 boxes of toys, the other six are video game collections. That's... Weird.

And two of them are quite small.
And I've a big black bin-bag with about a dozen toy's boxes in them. Masterpiece and 3P type stuff.

In my recent reorganisation, I reckon almost 1k in number of toys have went over the years due to planned purges or Real Life Issues. Probably a few thousand books and comics too.

Today I decided to tidy my desk. I could not move the mouse without my hand hitting a TF.
This turned into a major room tidy, packaging clearout and emptying of crates into the new single billy.
I can now see about 50% of the surface of the desk!

I'm on the verge of getting shot of the CW G2 Menasor Box, and the Takara Selects Megatron and Seacon boxes.
But they are pretty.
