Yes but then there'll be no point as they won't have the plastic insert to support the toy.

Lots of re-arranging going on here, because it was decided.
Seem to have spent most of the morning going through boxes, then most of the afternoon threading cables for Jonathan's various games consoles through holes.

I started throwing away some plastic bubbles from legends today, it hurt a little but necessary evil.

Good luck, Dezzeh. The plastic bubbles were the first bit of packaging I threw away when I started to run out of space (though I still keep the cardboard backing) and struggled with the must-keep-everything notion as well. The bubble plastic takes up a huge amount of space, particularly the circular ones on Deluxe figures. It was interesting to compare the older packaging to the newer ones. Beast Wars to Cybertron figures had a huge amount of bubble space allocated for dynamic poses, space is reduced for the Animated line, then it gets cut back significantly for the Generations line onward.
I suspect I'll need to do something about the larger boxes soon.

So far I am going to keep the deluxe packaging - it houses spare accessories.. I think in time that will also need to go and be replaced with a set of drawers and labelled baggies.

Phil recommend using larger boxes to stores smaller ones in. You'd be amazed how much you can get in a Titan's box if you loose the plastic tray

I don't keep plastic bubbles. For Deluxe downwards I've kept all the card and paper, but no plastic. I can't get into the Deluxes without cutting the bubbles off anyway, I've found doing that keeps the backing card in better condition.
One of my summer jobs is to sort out the proliferation of packaging that has come with the Prime Wars Trilogy stuff. Now that I've started opening toys I've suddenly become less precious about the packaging. It doesn't seem to hold much value anyway. My current decision is about whether to keep voyager/leader boxes complete or remove the inserts and store them flat. Masterpiece/3P I still keep everything, but these Generations toys don't seem worth the hassle to keep more than just the toy. All my TR stuff is currently in individual bags in an under bed storage box, the long flat ones are good for storing toys without piling them too high. It's so much easier than hundreds of rKive boxes with all the boxes inside.

Posting that prompted me to get up in the loft and start rearranging. I now face the challenge of making sure all the TR and POTP toys are open and boxes binned! So hard when I'm looking at all the TR Voyagers in their boxes (returned to, they have been opened). This goes against collecting instincts. How often do we wish we'd kept the boxes for toys we had when we were kids!

This is why I am finding it so hard! It's been ingrained in me for the last 20 years of collecting that things must be boxed.

Gosh this is silly. I've been clearing everything off a top shelf to get various toys I've bought in the last year or so grouped together into the same series so they can be stored together. Which means I've just found stuff like Greatshot and MP Sunstreaker that I'd completely forgotten were up there. Hey! I own Greatshot! Who'd have thought.

Woah! Deluxes in boxes! I'd not noticed that. Neither had I. I've also found the edge of Op's box and Cog's box, but he's in front if it. Well damn, I can't throw those away..

This is not what was supposed to happen! I've just managed to amass all my open Prime Trilogy boxes to try and get rid of them!

I think it's looking like "bin the tray, fold the box flat" for me on the deluxe..... Which may push me over the edge to doing the same thing on larger sizes too

I teeter on that precipice myself. See, this is what happens when you start opening toys! To be fair, if you kept them all sealed, then you would run out of room that much sooner by having to keep the boxes!

That's why I'm now trying to make the effort to open them. Catch 22! At the moment my study floor is growing a collection of everything Prime Wars Trilogy from shelves, loft, boxes etc for sorting, opening and organising.

our back bedroom is too small, there clearly isn't enough room for all my toys and the missus has agreed next year we need to look to move, currently I have 3 plastic boxes of toys wrapped in bubble wrap ready to by unleashed once again.
the short of it is yes we are moving because my toy collection keeps growing

You've only just moved, Dezzeh!
Browny, that is brilliant :) I've been pondering this a while. Mrs P wants a bigger living room and we've looked at moving but quite like the location we're in, so are thinking about an extension instead. Summer job for me is to work out how this could be, ala Phil's recent planning, but try and get a display room out of it for me as well. I really just need to downsize and cut away stuff, but it's hard to part with tat when you're a hoarder. My study room was supposed to double up as the display room, but there's no fecking space in it.
Compacting, organising and sorting things I own takes SO much of my time. I'm sure it's an OCD thing.

I know right, been there 8 months now. My nerd room is pretty full, we are considering moving me upstairs as it doesn't seem like the Mrs is keen on child 2 thus we will have a spare bedroom. I on the other hand, don't really fancy the upheaval but will do as I'm told for more space.

Take the space! It's worth the hassle. I moved my stuff from the smallest bedroom to the next one up, and it gave me a chance to replan how it would all fit. Consequently I currently have TWO WHOLE EMPTY SHELVES! which can be filled with some stuff from the ENTIRE ROOM OF TAT still at my parents' house.

Ill put some pictures up later of my "toyroom" the aim is to go from a 2 bedroom to a big 3 or small 4 bedroom, ideally with room for an extension - she knows me so well and knows full well that I will need more space long term
