I can't get you (or anyone else) a G2 Sideswipe, as only the custom class folk got them. The rest, however... one of my add-on plans fell through so I've just got the two sets at the moment- going to give it another crack when we go down for the early-bird dealer room opening at 2 (7p.m. UK time- channelling would be appreciated). I've lined all the chaps up for a group shot that you can see once I get the pics uploaded to Tony's laptop.

Sharkticons are sold out, so I'll have to make do with... six. Yeah. Still a few more Double Punch/Scorch/Ravage and Rapido/Cindersaur packs left and they are apparently only limited to one per visit to the club table so if I'm in first thing tomorrow I should hopefully be able to snag a fourth set. Tempted to get a few Dions as well but that will have to wait till Sunday as I have run through my convention money and am stuck getting $200 a day out of the cashpoint downstairs.

Not spent as much as Nick thankfully, got Bludgeon though. And I got G2 Sideswipe which is horribly wonderful. Wonderful toy limited to just about 60 or so figures though is horrid, still Hasbro could do it one day still. It does look amazing, though mine contains some extra black parts from Sunstreaker just because.
Still not opened most of the other figures, Clench and Breakdown are fantastic so I have high hopes for the rest.

But 3.5 of what? We don't know!

Just realized SO many stories and/or TF continuities (as a whole) were told in installments/seasons of 3... Well, get ready for Season 3.5!
By 3.5 I'm assuming it is something between G1 seasons 3 and 4, but then again I've heard rumours that it will be Animated, so who knows!

Sounds like it is something between season 3 of the original cartoon and The Rebirth. I imagine a continuation of, say, Animated would have been a season "4".
Shame.
A continuation of Animated or Beast Wars would have been most welcome.

I believe they aren't allowed to do anything set in the Animated universe for legal reasons which is why their exclusive Cheetor is 'Transtech'; not sure how true that is or not though.

It would make sense that it's based on the Sunbrow cartoon universe since Wings of Honour and G2 Redux were as well
but it would be quite constricted story-wise since it was only like a few months between season 3 and 4 right? and G2 Redux is set only a couple years after the series ends (set in 2010) so really you could have one short time-span story, or have this set somewhere other than Earth or Cybertron (maybe a Planet Master story?? lol)

Last years set would was set after rebirth and did mention a few bits and pieces that could fit a story set a few years before. Classics are way popular and FPs love of season 3 characters would fit.
I'd love it to be Animated but we did get told they couldn't or wouldn't use the cartoon as a setting (it was never made 100% clear which it was at botcon and I'm not sure it was clarified after and they do have a habit of making such statements either to mislead, because they are mistaken or because they don't know and take a safety first approach) so how or why a season 3.5 would fit I don't know, but Derrick J Wyatt is tweeting and posting so he's either involved or messing with peoples heads.
Also the first hint was "the invasion begins" or some such which has been taken to mean one timeline invading another so it could be both of the above or neither.

I hope not, I really really hate multiverse type stuff Sadly for you then FPs track record suggests its quite likely. The first 5 years of the club comic was dimension jumping. Botcon 2007 had Bugbite jumping. 2008 had Cliffjumper and last year had Slice really being SG Wheeljack in the diamond edition. All three of those stories could be seen as a prelude to an invasion. All are classic based toy sets too and all generally viewed in a positive light. Any two versus each other or one versus Animated? But then I don't know where the 3.5 fits in. Andy |

Andy I still hope that it's teh Gobots invading one of the new universes I don't hate the idea, but nor am I overly excited by Gobot toys and I don't have any expectation that I'll like the story enough to sell me on them thatway. On the otherhand I do really like the Bugbite figure from 07. |

This has been confirmed on the Botcon Twitter feed.
Good for me, as I can save quite a bit of money (I can pass on this one) and a good idea in general considering how popular Animated is with The Fandom. It's a good thing to go for. It will sell many sets/tickets.
I give it a day before the internet is full of moans of 'not fair, we should get this in Walmart/ASDA', just like the many moans about the Decepticon strike planes four years ago.

I'm thinking that Slipstream and Ramjet will have Seeker mold repaints, and maybe some of the Bumblebee-mold share guys in repaints (like Sedan, Tap-Out etc)
