That Reflector screams 'square peg into round hole'. Taken a good mold and tried to jam it into something it isn't, the camera looks like a plastic square that's burst open with Shockwave glued to the front.

Predacus looks the business. Wish he hadn't been so expensive.

Predacus looks the business. Wish he hadn't been so expensive. The combined mode looks good. Still think more work needed to go into the individual bots. As they are they look a bit strange with tiny comedy heads plopped onto normal bot modes.

Looking at UW Thrust, I'm really wonder exactly *why* FP chose Airraid for Terrorsaur/Fractyl? Even if I vehemently disagree with their mold choices, I can *usually* see why they choose it. But in this case, there's nothing even vaguely terrorsaurish about it. They both fly, and that's about it. Had they chosen Skydive, then I could see it. Had they chosen this for Waspinator, I could definitely see that. But like the tripredacus council trio, I just do not see what they do.

Victorion on Amazon.com $39.99 linkComes out at about £63. Cheap enough that I finally caved. And its back up to $106. Anyway mine has already shipped so I don't care. I don't much care about Victorion, but I like the individual robots a bit and the hands and feet might work well on Magnaboss or Superion I had completely forgotten that Magnaboss was A Thing. -Ralph

It's the adhoc make it up as you go along thing that Funpub did to try and balance Predacus. It's a sticker set for CW Silverbolt, Ironhide and Prowl, but you need Botcon Unit-3 and Tigertron to form the legs. He looks scary to me. I seriously thought about trying to put that one together for a while because Unit-3 and Tigertron weren't that expensive on the aftermarket. But I came to the conclusion I was just trying to pacify my desire for Predacus.

The club has a nasty habit of declaring customs/kitbashes as Official Exclusive Releases.

I call bullshit.
Pete never had the licence for a Botcon 2017 and Fun Pub didn't exactly lose their TF licence at short notice so how can there be 'what would have been the convention set and souvenirs?'. This is just bollocks to get people's attention towards an event that would otherwise be lower profile.

On a related note, who owns the Botcon trademark? It must be Pete Sinclair then if he is advertising his event using the name to promote it.

Also exclusives had to be agreed by Hasbro. Even if it something they were planning, there's loads of ideas that never got past that hurdle, so it doesn't mean it would have happened even if they had the licence.

It's economical with the truth, but I suppose what he's saying is, "If we were still doing a con and we still had the licence, knowing what moulds are available, these are some of the ideas we'd have pitched to Hasbro."

The license seems to have been up in the air for a long time, but exactly when Hasbro decided not to renew has not been stated as far as Im aware. Until it was decided it would have been business as usual. They usually had a pretty solid if not 100% confirmed line up for the next year before the current botcon. Another guy has confirmed they did know what this years Botcon and TFSS would be with bios and stuff prepared for some. Exactly how close to 100% confirmed it was I have no idea and things might have changed, but I think this will be a pretty much what it would have been. I dont for a second believe the mock up were done during the license though, but they probably have been done by the same people who did FPs mock ups So yeah the usual Pete hype, but probably more or less true. From what I remember FP still own the name Botcon. I do wonder if Pete tried to get them to use it for this or a similar convention this year.

Last couple of years Hasbro were far more involved in the process telling FP what themes, toys and in some cases which characters to do. I imagine that streamlined the process a little making it more likely a close to final line up had been largely sorted before the license was yanked.

It also kinda vibes as sour grapes. I doubt it is, but it reads like sour grapes more than the other "here are some unproduced ideas we had" reveals they've had.
