Therefore, UNKNOWN EVIL will win and as he wins his name will be revealed. -Ralph I think that they should just keep his name as Unknown Evil. Or even make him some sort of NuRid "Powersurge" style thing - "Unknown", with Mini-Con "Evil". Karl

To me it feels like it should be something intangible, like the swarm, or the nucleon threat, but then it'd be hard to make something like that into a Prime.
I'm quite keen to know what impact this is going to have, and on what. Comics, or will it really be a toy thing. This hasn't been announced as a fan-built thing like the last two. Three if you include Trypticon.

UNKNOWN EVIL wins and as he STEPS FROM THE SHADOWS HIS TRUE NAME IS REVEALED!!! It writes itself! Or Ultra Magnus wins and everyone just shrugs and goes: "We just had a toy of him!" -Ralph

No, but he could very easily be technoorganic, or a cyborg like the Beast Warriors. Transforming from Primate to Primatoid like Optimus Primal...

No, but if he is a robot in disguise he is disguised as a human being. Transformers are generally bilaterally-symmetrical bipedal in their default form, similar in shape to primates. Human beings are basically primates with advanced technology, and a fur and tail deficiency. Hence a Transformer who changed from a human being to a default Cybertronian form would be changing from a form resembling a primate, to a form resembling a mechanical primate...

Wasn't expecting that! So if that means a toy, will they use the MP? That would be new. An MP toy integrated into the comic story.

And IDW will use the design of whatever hasbro makes for PotP, or they'll use the one they already made for the comics

That's what I mean. It won't fit. Which is going to lead to the stupid situation of Hasbro ignoring a great MP figure in favour of knocking out a cheap voyager version. Mad!

If the Botcon Hall of Fame votes showed anything it was putting 1 Beast Wars character up against multiple G1s would almost always result in a BW win.
So either Hasbro wanted Primal to win, didn't care who won because all of them were getting toys or Hasbro are very very stupid.

Well given the current heads of the design team have stated they don't like BW, I'd wager all of them were getting toys (hence randomness of friggin' HOUND), or hasbro is really stupid.

As for MP Primal, I'd honestly have been shocked if it turned up in Hasbro packaging. They are now so far behind Takaras releases and even if they did based on Bumblebees idiotic price Primal would have been over £100.
If Hasbro did intend for Primal to win and have simplified the MP model down to something in line with Generations Rhinox that can be sold for £25 then thats actually brilliant.

Alternatively if they have come to their senses that TRU MP pricing is stupid beyond belief maybe just maybe Hasbro could be tempted to put Primal in a Leader Class box.
Given the Japanese price of Primal was pretty high thats unlikely without cutting back on pait apps and probably some simplification of the mould , still, but who knows.

Beast Wars is officially the greatest! The people have spoken! Hasbro now have a clear mandate to release nothing but Beast Wars toys forever!
Or something.
I'm still disappointed that this wasn't Arcee, 'cos that would've made for some interesting developments in the IDW comics. (If, indeed, they're in any way beholden to them, given the minimal tie-in that happened for Titans Return.) But if it had to be anyone else, I'm glad the boss monkey got it. That is, indeed, just Prime...
Of course, I'm sure that in the comics he *will* literally just be Prime. Or something. Optimus Prime reformatted. Via a testosterone overdose.
Maybe.
In terms of toys... yeah I don't see Hasbro re-releasing the MP mold. So it'll be intersting to see what they *actually* release. But presumably that'll depend on what the Power of the Primes gimmick actually is. Do we know yet..?
I should check out some other threads.

This is deeply underwhelming. Presented with the opportunity to hand the Matrix over to whomever they thought was the most interesting option, transformers fandom have opted for perhaps one of the most boring possibilities on the list. Arcee would have been amusing - basically the equivalent of handing the holy grail to Nikita and going "there we are, you're problem now". Deathsaurus would have been an interesting idea.
But no. It is someone who has _already been_ a Matrix holder. (Sure, it was only for about forty-five minutes, but still - Primal has been there, done that.
Eh. I am underwhelmed.
