One last one: Another parts reuse we've not spotted before: the bottom of the detachable cannon on the side of the leg is the fold out cannon from the top of Metroplex's shoulder.  Still think thank unit looks like it can open. Fab photos from TFND, got a lot of things that haven't been caught on camera before. |

Good enough reason to go Takara right there I think. That version won't have the awkward looking red rimmed holes on his legs if the guns are detached. I'm not sure why Hasbro have done that like that anyway. Given they've been seeking a more G1 toy inspired colour scheme for this line, the original doesn't have big red sockets there.

In fairness, if you detached the cannon he would have had big grey sockets instead so it isn't a huge difference in my mind... (Allowing for the fact that the original Fortress Maximus knee-guns weren't intentionally detachable. I say "intentionally" because I have an amazing talent for detaching all sorts of things, regardless of whether or not they are _supposed_ to come off. Fortunately it is usually accompanied by the reciprocal ability to put them back in place as well!) Karl |

Yes, but the grey on grey you wouldn't notice so much. The red is very glaring and isn't right. It highlights what's already wrong when the guns are attached.
