"Why aren't we going with the turtles?!? When something bad happens, you wanna be with the turtles!" I love that line.
Stockman looks fun. Rocksteady and Bebop are a surprise. I hope there's still work to do on them, because compaired to the turtles, they look a bit too cartoonish. Otherwise, looks like it'll be a fun movie!

He had a lot of good dialogue in the first one as well. The issue Bay will have with this is the first was a hit because there was zero expectations for it. Everyone expected it to be terrible. Instead it was surprisingly fun, apart from the ridiculous Shredder in a Megatron outfit. People expect this one to be good. It's like Transformers all over again.

That may be true if bay was writer and director of this one like he was RotF. But Bay is only exec producer for this and the first TMNT. He's actually not terrible as an exec.

He's actually not terrible as an exec. Is that because they don't actually do anything, anyway? I liked Rocksteady and Bebop. Kinda surprised how faithful they are, design-wise, given how awful the Turtles themselves look.

I don't think they look bad at all. But I do feel they look like they belong in a different movie. Stylistically, they have a slight cartoonish bend to them, while the turtle renders seem hyper realistic. I think if the turtles had more of a cartoonish bend to them, or the foot mutants edged more realistic, then the two sets would mesh better.

And that's actually surprisingly easy to do. Because they look better when in movement than they do in stills. I'm more offput by their size than their overall appearance. And yes. Anyone who hasn't seen it yet, really is doing themselves a disservice. The whole thing really does sound and look like a trainwreck, but it works. This is coming from me. I was extremely critical. Every new bit of info made me cringe. After he ruined Transformers, Michael Bay attached was a death nail. But I genuinely really enjoyed this movie. It's not true to any source material, but it borrows from all of them. There are recognizable elements from the mirage comics, from the original cartoon, from archie, from the movies, from the 4 Kids cartoon, and from the Nicktoon. And honestly, Shredder's not a big deal. I won't say why, as to not spoil anything for those who've yet to see it.

There's no reason why they should, it's just a nostalgia thing.

I don't care much for Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. I watched the cartoon back in the day though find it unwatchable now. I've never bothered with any of the other cartoons and I doubt I've read more than a dozen comics over the years. I did see the last live action movie and on its own merits I thought it was a fun and breezy kids movie that I could also enjoy as an adult. I neither know nor care how it relates to other Turtles things. I look forward to the sequel.

I got into the original comics some time after they'd got popular, somewhere in the 20s I think, but when the hero turtles cartoon reached here I didn't get on with it. Since then they've been a kind of peripheral interest, but I only bought a set of figures for the first time this year. I've got the old trades of the original comics.

Of course, we all know what those things from the sky allude to . Recasting Shredder and Karai is a bit strange, but they could still be a good Shredder and Karai. They could have recasted April whilst they were at it. I wouldn't be surprised if this movie ends up setting up the third one.

I have absolutely no problem with Megan Fox, in TMNT. She was pretty good in it. What I didn't like was 45 year old Will Arnett hitting on 28 year old Megan Fox. That was kinda pretty gross and unnecessary.
