Just saw this thread for the first time - what is all this UFO nay-saying?!? There may have been a couple of clunkers, but at its best it was an amazing show! The DVD sets have survived many purges, but an upgrade might be nice.
Every episode of UFO is the same: a lying title sequence that promises great excitement, then 49 minutes of nothing happening followed by about a minute of an alien dying/getting away, then the end ttitles.
Nice article on this in SFX this month. I've never seen it. I went looking for DVDs but the promise of some HD restoration has me interested. Any clue on when this is due? I trust Phil's judgements on TV generally so I'd like to get it.
Is this better or worse than Space 1999? I've just realised I had one of the fighters with the missile noses as a toy when I was tiny. I always thought that was from Space 1999, but I've just joined the dots.

I enjoy UFO. Plenty of people here will tell you it is pish, they are awful liars.
Though the best thing IS the theme tune. But's its a great theme tune.
