He is great. I love his visor eyes and flared trouser legs.
I am really impressed with your photos you know. When I was experimenting with that a year or so back, I found doing them on a white background the hardest. I'd love to know what the actual setup you're using is. Are you just using diffused light from the sides, or is it lit from beneath too?

Are you just using diffused light from the sides, or is it lit from beneath too? Here we go! Box has holes cut in the top and sides, covered in baking paper. The lamps on the side are £4 ones from B&M. I could put a lamp on the top too but natural light seems ok. The inside is a curved sheet of nice quality card from an art shop.

That's amazing. That's just what I've got except mine was 30 quid and the lights broke almost straight away. The switches melted would you believe. I couldn't get a good shot on white. Maybe paper is more reflective than the cloth that came with the light box.
Hmm. Interesting. At least I know where to go to replace the broken lights!

I had to buy the bulbs seperately at ASDA, £3 the pair! I guess white card is better because it's more automatically smooth. With a cloth it's clearly cloth and you need to iron the hell out of it. I was looking at those lightboxes on Amazon but all the reviews said stuff like you said above.

The box itself is nice because it folds away and has pouches the lights fit in so it's all self contained. Except they're broken. On the black cloth I got some half decent results, but yours does the job just as well and has the satisfaction of being home made.
Brilliant!

Slow it down. A niche blog gets by just fine with an update a week. Make one day Rock Lord Day and have that when you put stuff out or you may burn through everything too quickly! You could stockpile stuff ready to go.

However I also want a decent size stockpile of posts as going to a blog with one or two articles is rubbish. So I'm doing an article a day for the first week so there's some basic content, then moving to 2-3 posts a week. I have made a calendar plan!

Oddly enough I saw that the other day. I was going to ask the guy whose site that is if I could use it on my blog.
Fascinating to see the original Fossilsaurus box and that it was going to be called Fossil Puzzler. You can see the Fossil Lords on cards above in their prototype colours (that match how they appeared in the movie too)

Do you have the tech spec equivalents for the Rock Lords Blue? they would make great data headers for your review pages.

I haven't found info on all of them yet! I should make a page to compile them all!

That is amazing. Genuinely. Having scoured the film for 'zine content, the Tumbler interested me, and knowing there was going to be a toy that featured the demonic rock breaking device is curious indeed.
Looking at where that handle is (so high and far back) and the fact the mouth movement is listed as a separate selling point, I'd hazard a guess there's a rotating drum of some sort exposed behind the head - see how the flight of stairs actually goes behind the head, it kind of implies there's something there. Perhaps it isn't shown in the photo as the prototype was an unfinished shell.
Hmm. Given the text, I bet it was a half cylinder on the handle, like a bucket. Stick a rock in, rotate 180 degrees and it exposes a hole underneath that drops the Rock out of the mouth, which would be on a spring so it snapped shut unless a rock fell on it and pushed it open. Brilliant! that should so have been made!

Oh dear thats going to take some incorporation. If that's for the fanzine image, the first proto is far more exciting visually I think! And it has a honking big handle

Hell, Im considering including colour variants. Yes colour variants in a black and white image. God speed good sir! Also speaking of variants, the amount of info I have now on variants is insane. Most of them are barely visible to the human eye though!

Thats good because most of the variants will barely be visible to the human eye at A4.
