The biggest question about this one, really, is: What took them so long?
The follow-up question of course being: WHERE'S GOLDBUG?!?

The biggest question about this one, really, is: What took them so long? The follow-up question of course being: WHERE'S GOLDBUG?!? All I can think of is that either the original Magnus didn't sell that well, or they're spacing out the big scale repaints. It does seem odd it took that long though! Personally I'm hoping for a Shining Magnus recolour! We've had a 'gold Bumblebee' already haven't we? If we didn't get a Goldbug head with that, I think the ship's sailed!!

Is this MP-31 or will it be MP-22D?
Aka the return of the butt flap.

Must admit I would have rather have had CW/UW Magnus in Diaclone colours. It 'feels' a lot like the original Magnus mould in hand

Now.... Don't get mad.... Don't get cross....
But who is Delta Magnus?
And why does Andu like him so much?
Nice colours, but still looks like a numb lump of a mold (sorry, Pinwig).

Delta Magnus was Ultra Magnus's evil twin brother from the classic Sunbow Episode 'Helmet Club'. He teamed up with the Decepticons and disguised himself as Ultra Magnus by painting himself blue and white, but eventually died, sacrificing himself to stop Galvatron's giant fist space-station from stealing the Amazon rainforest. All that was left was his head, which Ultra Magnus tearfully placed in his empty Matrix compartment. It's a classic, Shockprowl, have you honestly not seen it??

Masterpiece Ultra MAgnus shouldnt have butt flap.
Masterpiece Powered Convoy probably shouldn't have bum flappage either.
Masterpiece Delta Magnus..... I dont know, maybe hes the sort of guy who should have bum flap.

Right. I knew about the colours but didn't remember the name. So I looked. Potted History of Delta Magnus for Shockers: - When original released in the Diaclone range, what we know as G1 Ultra Magnus had these colours and was called Powered Convoy (as in, powered up version of Diaclone Convoy, the Optimus Prime mould).
- In an early promo reel for TF The Movie, Ultra Magnus was still in these colours
- In Japan around 2001 a Magnus recolour was released using these colours as a toy show exclusive, homaging the figure from the film promo
- Dreamwave's ever present need to explain the unexplained meant in their comics a Magnus clone in these colours briefly made an appearance (created by Shockwave) but was never named
- Delta Magnus (of the house of Magnus) then appeared in the early part of IDW's More than Meets the Eye book giving the Ultra Magnus figure in these colours a concrete name and history.
But quite frankly, Blueshift's version is far better.

Maybe it's a bum cape, rather than a flap?
Also, what surprised me about the Delta Magnus episode was the way Prowl nearly ruined everything.

So, why does Delta Magnus get his own MP number, when he's just a repaint, yet Ramjet, Skywarp etc don't get a new number?

So, why does Delta Magnus get his own MP number, when he's just a repaint, yet Ramjet, Skywarp etc don't get a new number? The original TakTom Skywarp and Thundercracker MP did get their own number, I presume as they were a tweaked version of the Starscream mold. I think the newer ones are just a straight repaint of the MP11 mold.
