Spin + sinister, as pointed out by Toph on the previous page. Cos it's a sinister helicopter with spinning blades.
A spinster is an old unmarried woman, and regardless of what you think about the relationship between Starscream and Megatron, that doesn't work for a giant transforming robot.

I have just realised that Grotusque = Grotesque! -Ralph I always thought his name WAS Grotesque! I also called Spinister 'Spinster' for a long time. Yes! Yes I was the same! Only realised it was 'Spinister' after I joined The Hub. And I'm still not sure what the Monsterbot is called. I mean, I read it, but but but I just can't absorb the information! Also I think the Monsterbots are a bit silly...

The Monsterbots to me are a reminder of the diversity of the line at that point. These days we have rigid size classes and figures within those that are all proportionally very similar, even when they aren't remoulds or sharing limbs. Back then, Hasbro were all about originally and diversity. So although 87 is remembered as the year of the Headmasters, there was stuff like the Monsterbots, Duocons, Sixshot, Counterpunch going on too. The Monsterbots are a win for those reasons alone.
Good times.

Just the other day I was on board the burger 'Skylink' bus which I call Skylinx because of the colour and I realised that Skylynx was a pun name! Sky + lynx. It is a space plane plus a lynx and lynx = link!!! I was astonished by this sudden revelation!

There's a rumored deluxe wreckgar walgreen exclusive in potp. Was part of a set of leaks that only remotely panned out, if I recall.
I'm kinda suspecting it was replaced with Blastoff.
