Okay... Yeah. That's looking a lot better now. And a genius idea to have the swappable chests. Almost, one might say, worthy of a masterpiece...

It looks better, but the solid red on the arms and legs is disappointing. A few blocks of colour, chrome or additional optional stickers wouldnt have killed them.

Much improved I think. As good as the MMC one anyway, despite the lack of detail in the legs, so worth keeping 'official' with it. I'm sure reprolabels can do something tasteful to help with the block colour areas. I avoid stickers on MPs, but if it's subtle enough it works.
Actually, lets not be sniffy here, that looks a hell of a lot better than the first Ironhide colour images did. The proportions are really good. Chest's a bit flat, but I think that's a pretty nice looking figure.

Undeniably plain looking in these photos. The last ones made it look better. Edit - err, which would be because the other photos had the chromed cab front with better detailing. Ooh, I came over all MMC for a minute there, but I feel better now.

The anime cab is really plain.
Its kind of shocking that there is or Takara believe there is such demand for them to go that far towards cartoon accuracy.

Its one thing to leave parts plain that arent part of the vehicle mode, but to include replacement parts to simplify the parts that do is crazy.

Let's be fair, there probably it. It's more of a shock they are releasing it with both front pieces rather than two separate releases.

I really don't like it. Leaving out details just because they weren't there in the cartoon is making these look a bit too Playskool for me. I much prefer the legs on the 3rd party ones. Not too much of a big deal as Inferno isn't that important to me anyway, but I do start to dread what Jazz will be like when they do get around to doing him.

In some quarters the idea is being mooted that the simpler front is designed purely for Inferno to hold Red Alert in 'that' pose, almost like there's some lip for Red to sit on to help. But I don't really see that in the images so far. It just looks like a super simple toon version.
The legs are a worry. Plus point is that they're nice and chunky, but they really are plain.

Yes - the original toy had so much nice detail that it seems such a waste to not have it on a so-called Masterpiece toy. Yes, I want them to look like the character models but almost in a 'real life' image of the actual vehicle turning into that robot. Guess I'm in a minority as so many fans do see Sunbow as the definitive Transformers image.
I wonder if they will ever do Marvel comic Yomtov ones coloured only in dots. All non important background characters could then be done in a nice single block colour of blue!

Interesting that the toon front is a separate piece to the shelf to sit red alert on front. Three faces too. Lots of accessories for this chap.

Yeah, I'm liking what they're doing with customisability here. I may actually have to relent and get the inevitable Grapple when it arrives - mostly because Grapple was my first Transformer.

Phil, I followed that link but there's no Inferno, just lots of pics of figures of young slim ladies (what are they about anyway?).
Inferno is very bland. Oh dear. This is a worry. Just too bland. Too cartoony.
And just what the heck is that little Prime about? If it's something to do with that piss-poor episode 'Child's Play' then I'll be cross!
