I've been very good and (mainly) resisted the Epic Collections as they've hit. The only ones I cracked on were ASM 15, in a sale for the frst time today, and FF 17 & 20. This does mean I have quite a backlog to buy when they hit sale price: Avengers Epic 17 Judgemet Day Captain America 1 Captain America Lives Again Master of Kung Fu v2 Fight Without Pity New Mutants v2 Demon Bear X-Men v4 It's Always Darkest Before the Dawn SW Original Marvel Years v4 X-Men v17 Dissolution and Rebirth Fantastic Four v4 The Mystery Of The Black Panther Thor v18 The Black Galaxy West Coast Avengers v2 Lost in Space-Time Incredible Hulk v4 In The Hands Of Hydra Avengers 9 The Final Threat Captain America 9 Dawn's Early Light Thor 11 A Kingdom Lost Thor 16 War of the Pantheons Doctor Strange v8 Triumph & Torment Daredevil v4 A Woman Called Widow Avengers 1 Earth's Mightiest Heroes Silver Surfer 1 When Calls Galactus X-Men 1 Children of the Atom Fortunately, on the evidence of past years, I know there's likely to be a big Marvel collections sale just before Christmas: By then they'll be a few more Epics due: X-Factor v8 X-Aminations Power Man & Iron Fist v3 Doombringer X-Force v2 X-Cutioner's Song Avengers v24 The Gatherers Strike! Defenders v9 The End Of All Songs and hopefully Iron Man 16 War Games The money is set aside on December's spreadsheet waiting for them

Oops Reading the superb Legacy of Thanos last night www.comixology.co.uk/Avengers-The-Legacy-Of-Thanos/digital-comic/215248The digital copy runs Avengers #255-261 then Avengers Annual #14 and finally Fantastic Four Annual #19. However my paper copy, and the story, runs Avengers #255-260 then Avengers Annual #14 then Fantastic Four Annual #19 and finally Avengers #261! Avengers #261 makes reference to the events of the annuals which can't occur before Avengers 260! I've asked them if they can fix it, they did it in about a week or so when Alien Costume saga 2 was missing an issue! tmukhub.proboards.com/post/374368/thread

Phil does....
However given a choice between £1.49 x 18 today - which I think is about £27, £13.99 tomorrow or £5.49 in a month, I think the choice is clear!
Got a big long list of Epics and Trades budgeted for in the end of year sale. I know the cut off for it is soon - I got last year's X-Factor Epic in the sale before I got my paper copy: that came out comic shops last week and book shops next week.
Can you understand now why I'm so keen to get that last Iron Man epic in digital format asap?

But Phil needs Power Man and Iron Fist. -Ralph Phil does.... This PMIF in particular is special. PMIF 100 is the limit of where the Essentials got to so everything after this is new to trade. But PMIF 100 is also special to me: it was in the first batch of Marvel comics my Dad bought us home from work. We'd had one already, Iron Man 172, but this was the first time we got multiple titles, which were all from the month cover dated December 1983.... so it would probably have been in November 1983. www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/newsstand.php?type=cover&month=12&year=1983&publisher=marvel&sort=alpha&checklist=nullThe comics were Alpha Flight 5
Conan the Barbarian 153
Incredible Hulk 290
Iron Man 177
Marvel Team-Up 136
Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man 85
Power Man and Iron Fist 100
Rom 49
Thing 6
Uncanny X-Men 176 People here can testify to the quality of some of those issues, especially the Hulk. I didn't realise how fortunate I was. Now these had to be divided up between my younger brother and me. I took X-Men - I'd read the UK X-Men winter special that reprinted Nightcrawler and Iceman from Bizarre Adventures plus the UXM 144 story from Mighty World of Marvel 4. I got Iron Man, thanks to the previous issue, Rom, because I'd read Rom in Star Wars UK and PMIF because they'd guested in ROM. PMIF 100 is virtually a flawless anniversary issue. It retails both characters origins, wraps up some long running plot threads, but recaps them for those coming in fresh, has them fight long standing foes and gives a large supporting cast a decent look in. It's brilliant..... unlike a similarly round numbered anniversary issue I read last night! If you don't get the trade, or it's digital copy, then buy PMIF 100 the next time it turns up in a Comixology sale - which it will in about six months time!
