Earlier this morning Burns and I both vouchsafed our opinion that Black Vortex is Pish. tmukhub.proboards.com/post/252905/threadDon't bother arguing, it is. But it got me thinking .... What's your favourite X-Men in space story? And your favourite Superheroes in space story full stop?

Favourite X-Men in space story...
I would have to say the Claremont/Lee - Warskrull stuff, simply as it was finally the X-Men back as a team properly, narrowly edging out the first Brood story.
Favourite superheroes in space story...
JLI - the Manga Khan stuff by Giffen/DeMatteis/Maguire.

I have a fondness for the Avengers in space story that Marvel UK put in a Secret Wars II special.

I haven't read that many, but the TF backup Hercules strip probably wins for me, as the Rocket Raccoon one probably doesn't count as a 'superhero'.
X-Men... I don't know actually.

I like the Jim Lee/Claremont story Andu mentions above but it always grates that Binary is all but absent from the Starjammers and nobody says anything!
Fave X-Men space tale is the second part of the first Brood story - X-Men 162-166. Includes Paul Smith's first issues and hasn't been floppy reprinted.
My favourite Superhero space story is the one reprinted in Avengers: Legacy of Thanos involving the Skrulls. Fab stuff.

I think I am probably in agreement with Phil about my favourite X-Men-in-space story. I've a great fondness for the story that introduces the Sleazoids.
As to my favourite Superheroes in Space story... I think I'd probably say "The Great Darkness Saga" in Legion of Superheroes - ancient evils, entire planets in peril, heroes facing corrupted imitations of legendary figures from their own cultures, an unstoppable army of mind-controlled, fanatical Daxamites... And personal dramas within the Legion at the same time, a new leader having to step up and be taken seriously. Lovely stuff in a fine Four-Colour tradition.
