This is one of Troughton's last stories. The Ice Warriors were introduced in the previous season, which is why there isn't a lot of explanation for them here.

Yes I really enjoyed Green Death. Drama, plot that kept me guessing, emotion, heart-break...
The 2nd Doctor was excellent last night. He's going to be very high on my 'Favorite Doctors' list that I'm planning after I've watched Phase Two.

I have a great love for the Second Doctor. Always have since I saw the repeat of "The Krotons" as a youngster. I quite enjoy "Seeds of Death". Whilst it is by no means my favourite Troughton story I do find it very watchable. (And I've always had a soft spot for the Ice Warriors - there is something rather striking about the big, lumbering hissy lizards. Actually, they remind me of more serious-looking versions of the Gorn from the Star Trek episode "Arena". They have the lumbering implacability, if not the big "I am punching Captain Kirk, this is fun" grin of the latter.)

Pat Doc's era suffers from essentially being the same story (base under siege) over and over but he's always watchable.

I think Phase Three is going to be me asking you all for the, err, top ten stories I haven't seen yet, and I'll hunt them down on the inter-snatch and buy.
Now, I suspect that's a tough ask, not only limiting it to ten (and they'll also have to be spread across all 7 doctors), but also getting you all to agree on a top ten! ....should be fun....
But! We'll finish Phase Two first.
