This is all very encouraging. I will be very interested to see how Shockers finds watching Remembrance straight after this. Very different beast. Trust in my viewing order! The effect for Shockprowl will now be even more intense! -Ralph

The effect for Shockprowl will now be even more intense! -Ralph I trust The Doc' List! So, Remembrance of the Daleks, hopefully tonight unless Mrs Shocks highjacks the TV. She should be up for it, I was surprised to learn she likes Sylvester McCoy. Not seen this. Only saw, if I remember correctly, McCoy's first episode after he'd regenerated, and being unimpressed. Not with McCoy himself, but more with the look and feel of it. And the baddie was rubblish, that lady from Dynasty and the thing with the cruise ship? I also saw the McGann film, and quite liked McCoy's brief appearance in that. So, this is again the unknown! But I am feeling positive. I imagine it'll be a shock to jump from 3rd to 7th. BUT I TRUST THE DOC' LIST.

You are in for a treat. Remembrance is solid gold and absolutely nothing like McCoy's first story. You will love it.

When you're finished, tell us and we'll tell you the Bomb Squad Story.
Come to think of it, after last night someone ought to do the Eyepatch story.

Yeah liking it so far. Just starting ep 2. I like the 7th Doctor's manor. Not sure how I feel about Ace yet. The title sequence is terrible though! The 3rd's looked far better.
So yeah, but of a jump, 3rd to 7th, but it's good so far, baby!

So! A Dalek War! Awesome!
The Emperor Dalek has a silly voice.
I like the mention if the 1st Doctor.
I can see why the 7th is known as a manipulator. He's pretty excellent actually!
This is good stuff.

You feel perfectly fine about Ace. Sophie Aldred is divine.
Two true Pinwig facts: 1. Back in the nineties I commissioned an artist friend to paint her from photo references. 2. When I met her at a con and got her to sign it, she was impressed and asked me about it, but I was rendered completely speechless and couldn't answer, such was the power of her presence.
I was laughed at for several hours by the friends I was there with.

That blew my mind. Gunner Dalek, grimy and tarnished from years of war. I loved the idea that there was a really f*cked up Kaled mutant inside who just lived to blow things up.
Did you like the cliffhanger to part one? That was another punch the air moment. See? SEE? They CAN!

As a kid, Remembrance part one was so exciting that I ended up in hospital! Tell all. Bonus points if it involves genitalia. Not this time! I was so excited about Doctor Who being back on tv (which means I must have bloody loved season 24) that I was jumping about like a mad thing. Unfortunately earlier that day my little sister had dropped pins all over the floor so I got a pin in my foot that snapped in half and had to go have an x-ray to find it.

Right, so, the 'Imperials' are Davros trying to take-over and augment the Daleks. Where the 'Renegades' where actually true Daleks, True-Blobs?
What is the 'Time-Line' of The Daleks? If there can be such a thing...
I love the thought that it was the 1st Doctor who took the Hand of Omega. Has the Hand of Omega been mentoned before or since?
The 7th Doctor is a BIG HIT folks. Fantastic story. The Doc' List is Supreme!

Fantastic story. The Doc' List is Supreme! Davros was a naughty fellow and legged it from the Daleks (who didnt like Davros) and tried to make his own race of Daleks which were loyal to him. The last time we saw him in the show, the Dalek Police arrested him and took him off to jail. In the mean time, Davros clearly took over and made his Daleks the new Imperials, forcing the older Daleks to become renegades. The Hand of Omega hasn't been mentioned before, but we've met Omega in The Three Doctors, HE SHOUTED A LOT

The Dalek timeline is convoluted and doesn't really work across the whole series. Remembrance is the end of a run of five Dalek stories that starts with Genesis, basically the Davros stories. He creates them, they consider themselves superior, then they decide they need him after all, then they don't, then Davros goes off to create his own superior Daleks and the two sides fight it out in Remembrance.
The Hand of Omega hadn't been mentioned before. It was doing two jobs: the script editor wanted to give the Doctor a shadowy past to make him mysterious, and this story also started the 25th anniversary season, so the references back to the first Doctor are part of that. The school in the story is the one in the very first William hartnell story.
