I am in some danger already of spending more on Origins this year than on TFs. In terms of toys that make me feel six years old again it's unbeatable.

The wave 4 figures consisting of Hordak, Tri-Clops, Ninjor and Stratus are available for home delivery onb the Smyths website for £14.99 each. I am suyrpsied these are available before wave 3. HordakNinjorStratosTri-ClopsI have also noticed the larger carded figures in these waves of Battle Armour He-man, Skeletor, Ram Man and Clamp Champ aren't on the Smytsh website, so I will have to get them else where.

They seeemd to get the wave 1 non Walmart version that seems to be refreshed of just He-Man, Skeletor and Battle Cat. Unless Mattel do a refresh wave then doubtful they will show up. I got all of wave 1 and 2 from Amazon last August to September and most of those shipped from Italy and Spain. It doesn't even seem liek the US got much or any of wave 2.
So many key characters in those first two waves look like they will be gold dust to get, but I do see sites liek amazon aer due some of those figure sin within the next few weeks.

Yes, I'd been hoping to give Smyths money also, and not Amazon - I give Amazon enough as it is in these not-being-able-to-go-to-any-shops times... On the plus side, Mattel do seem to actually be making product available to buy, which is an interesting new approach for them.

On my last day at work before I went on furlough I did have a look at the system to see what will be coming in when I wasn'ty at work. I do see many MOTU figures that weren't listed on the website at the time, but are now, on this list.
There is an unassigned as of yet section that does have the likes of Clamp Champ, Ram Man and Battle Armour He-Man and Skeletor listed. Interestingly there is a description just listed as "MOTU Origins Deluxes Action Figure AssT" which maybe the missing wave 1 and 2 figures. but only time will tell if these appear instore/on the website.
This section also has the WWE MOTU figures wave 6 Ultimate Warrior, Goldberg, Kane and Stephanie McMahon figrues that were't revealed until a couple of weeks ago. So we will just have to wait and see if any of these figures so appear or not.

I see some sites have some wave 5 and 6 figures listed such as Big Bad Toy Store. So apparently the waves are:
Wave 5:- Webstor, Stinkor, The Green Goddess and a listing for Beast Man 2. There is an individual listing for a Beast Man from the Lords of Power convention pack based on the prototype sculpts shown in the original promotional materials, so it maybe a genearl release of that figure.
Wave 6:- Faker, Fisto, Merman also Lords of Power, and apparently a second version of Evil-Lyn.
I don't know if which waves these are attached too but I am also seeing listings for Mosquitor and Buzz Saw Hordak. This pais seem to be in the Battle Armour, Ram Man and Clamp Champ price range.

Two new MotU lines revealed at Mattel thing yesterday: news.toyark.com/2021/02/24/mattel-reveals-new-masters-of-the-universe-cartoon-and-masterverse-figures-418886The figures accompnaying Kevin Smith's Revelations cartoon are exactly as I expected them to be, as they seem to be aimed at the Legends/Black Series market. There's a hint of the 200X cartoon around them, which is something, but otherwise they're not looking particularly interesting to me thus far. But then they're mostly not aimed at me, so I should shut up. It's just a rendering for the *other* Netflix MotU cartoon, but this certainly looks more like it's aiming for kids. I don't know if it's a style I'm particularly interested in at the moment, but it does look modern (for whatever my understanding of "modern" is), so if it's a style that's going to work with kids then that's a good thing. And it does at least look different to all the many, many retreads of the original line. So we'll see how that pans out. I am, however, quite bitter about the fact that there's two MotU series on the way that haven't even aired yet and which already have toys planned, and yet we've still to see a proper Princesses of Power line (no, those awful dolls and a couple of convention exclusives don't count). I shouldn't be disappointed, but... I am.

I also want proper Netflix She Ra figures. There are lots of characters that I'd have to own. But nothing. I'd gave thought Pop figures would at least get made.

I'm already experiencing brand confusion. So Origins figures are their own thing, not to do with the new shows? There are two new shows? Are the two new shows on at the same time? These Masterverse figures relate to which one? Is this a fourth toy line happening at once?
I worry Mattel may fook the brand at retail if there are multiple lines of figures. I can picture so many confused parents! MOTU has not been a presence for 20 years (Classics was mostly online and aimed at pre-existing adult fans). Surely just one line at this point would make sense? I'm a fan and I'm getting very confused!

Two different shows in production concurrently, although one looks like it'll go out before the other. The Masterverse toys are for the Revelations cartoon (of course) which is Kevin Smith's "adult" continuation of the original Filmation cartoon. (You know, the series that was famed for its serial storytelling. Um.)
The Masters of the Universe toys are for the other cartoon, which is airing at some point.
Origins is just an ongoing nostalgia line.
Simple, no?
No.

Right. So the Revelations toy-line is actually called Masterverse.
The MOTU toys are for the MOTU reboot cartoon.
The Origins toys are not tied to either but are still called MOTU and don't say Origins on the packaging.
Nope, no recipe for confusion here.
Oh, Mattel.

I really thought they were doing a good thing with having a single toyline, priced appropriately, which managed to be both kid-friendly toys while also being posable, retro-styled things pleasing adults! This does feel like a potential misstep...

It does seem to be going for over saturdation on a product that hasn't been on retail shelves since about 2004 to suddenly be bringing out three different lines.
I thought that the Origins line was at retail due to the these shows coming serving as the toy line for themn so was surpised by the announcements of two new lines. But as the Masterverse line seems to be aimed more at the older audience and from what I have seen on sites that have listings will be about £25 a figure, will they be online only or specialist shops?
I know that Super 7 were doing the Masters of the Universe Classics line and recently doing Snake Mountain, so will that be four seperate lines on the go?
I can understan doing a general retail line and a fan specialist line, but three or four lines at the same time for what has been a dead brand to th egeneral publi csince the 200x series failed is a bit nuts.
Edit: Okay it seems that Super & don't have the license for any MOTU stuff anymore from what I can see.
So is Masterverse more a replacement or updated model for Classics?

Who knows!
I am overjoyed at having MOTU back at retail but do worry about having so many similar lines at once for what has been (to the general public) a dead line for 18 years. I am all over Origins, especially as it is unashamedly a kids toy line reasonably priced. Those Masterthingy figures do look nice though. I especially like the Skeletor.

Ah A UK retailer that has the wave 3 deluxes in stock. I held off buying them.....for about 30 minutes. Oh well I am in too deep on the Origins line.
I did see this Keldor and Kronis set on a UK site for £40 last week. I am hoping that nearer it's release date it does show up in the UK at general retail nearere the $29.99 Target will be selling it for, but I think even a dollar to pound converstion for £29.99 maybe wishful thinking at this point.
It does looka fun set that I shall pick up if I can find it at a reasaonble price.

Trap Jaw without his... well, his trap jaw is just wrong. But that's the point of that set, and it's a nice little one.

Thumbs up to Origins Roboto. Twist his waist, and the cogs within his transparent chest all rotate and his mouth opens and closes. Plus, I'm a sucker for robots/cyborgs with multiple arm/hand attachments.
The only thing Trap Jaw has over Roboto is that he has a belt on which you can hang his unused arm attachments, whereas Roboto has nowhere to put his unused axe/claw/gun. Oh, and Trap Jaw's head comes off and can be replaced by Skeletor's. I'm not pulling Roboto's head off for obvious reasons.

Plus Roboto's head isn't designed to come off like the rest in the line due to the gimmick,
You can also use Roboto's pieces on Trap Jaw that are a nice fit, while Trap Jaws parts can fit on Roboto's hand, they aren't a good fit. Sadly neithers parts work on th eoriginal toys due to being completely different sizes.
I am in so deep and loving this line. Next stop should be Panthor and Cast eGrayskull at the start of next months is they do show up in Smyths as they were both due between the 29th and the 5th, but I see Panthor is now the 23rd to 30th of March. But Scottish stores are still closed until early April when they open for click 'n Collect.

Origins Panthor looks nice, but has very limited articulation compared to the humanoid figures. He can open and shut his mouth, and wave his tail around, but his neck and legs have very limited movement.

I do have Battle Cat already so I am aware of the articulation. It would have been nice if the legs could move in a way so he could be a cat loaf or the legs to go outwad to starfish., but that would be for a higher price point of a figure.
Saying that while Panthor is now available for home delivery in Smyths, Castle Grayskull has once again been moved back and is now showing as due early June. At one point they had it showing as due in January.
I have also thought about learning how to flock, as I can't paint, then getting a second Battle Cat to maek the orange stripes red and the green into black as a ride for MOTWWEU Mr. T.

I see the castle is £73 on Kapow. That seems like a pretty good price for the size of it.
