2017 sees the end of the Doctor Who Experience so I feel the team should assemble there one last time before it vanishes. There are also the local delights that Cardiff Bay offers...including the Ianto shrine.

Not a Who fan, but would be up for a Cardiff day trip. I'm down, solely for the Ianto shrine (if it still exists!!!)

The Ianto Shrine still exists. It featured recently in DWM.

Strange. My post seems to have disappeared. Just to say, Cardiff Comic Con is 4th-5th March.

Do we want to pick a month? I haven't seen a note of when in summer the DWE closes yet.

The end draws near. Think I'll aim for late July or August. I want to see the restored WOF Yeti.

That it does. We will pay tribute next Saturday.
Which reminds me: I need to talk to Martin and Burns about train times and lunch and things.
The youngest member of our party wants to ride Bay -> Queens St -> Central which I think should be doable?

Likewise, as I'm already here. That it does. We will pay tribute next Saturday. Which reminds me: I need to talk to Martin and Burns about train times and lunch and things. The youngest member of our party wants to ride Bay -> Queens St -> Central which I think should be doable? Yes, but not on the same train. The Cardiff Bay train goes nowhere except back and forth between the Bay and Queen Street every 12 minutes. Martin

Proposed Train Timetable:
09:07 Swindon (d) 10:42 Cardiff Central (a)
Taxi to DWE, DWE, pay tribute to our departed hero at the shrine, eat food

Allegedly this is a walk across the same platform interchange
15:11 Cardiff Queen's Street (d) 15:14 Cardiff Central (a)
15:26 Cardiff Central (d) 16:52 Swindon (a)
Back up train at 15:30, via Templemeads, and at 16:26

Sounds good. I'll meet you at Central and leave you at Queen Street.
Weather may be rotten.
That's a long train journey. Are you going a long way round due to the closure of Bristol Parkway?
If so, I challenge you to make Ralph see this as a fun thing.

As far as I know it's the direct route, calling at Patchway instead of Parkway, with a go slow through the Parkway works. Hour forty is a little brisk for the long way...... Could be a reverse at Templemeads I suppose.....
:-( to back. Hope better soon and you're match fit for the weekend. We will bring the healing power of comics!

<digs>
09:07 Swindon 10:04 Bristol Parkway 10:31 Newport Gwent 10:45 Cardiff Central
1) I thought BPW was closed! That's far too long, usually half an hour..... If I was putting money, I think that looks like round the NE curve avoiding Templemeads then a reverse BPW.
