It's a TV screen I've been using as a monitor for donkeys years. No idea what the default is,will dig around.

Boom. Sorted, I think, apart from some eye strain looking at what I could see. This is what I have Neon C1962F - Mrs picked it up cheap as a bedroom TV years ago Manual: manualzz.com/doc/9572320/ib-c1962fNative Resolution given in the manual is 1440x900: set that and Robert's your Father's brother. Interestingly when I poked around in the display settings this morning, the refresh rate didn't look right. Changing that caused the PC to drop to minimal resolution like I saw yesterday.

Major result today: discover you could save files from the iPad back to the pc through iTunes. So I've copied the entire contents of my Comiczeal app over and am busy working out what I have and haven't got already.
