We've reached that scene in Invasion of Dinosaurs where the Brig realises everyone is a traitor.

Even worse - fell asleep before the end of the episode and due to Netflix's desire to just keep going, woke up in the middle of episode six.
Tilly in the upside down didn't really do it for me!

Still no Sybok though!
I do like the way this is layering on deeper meaning to Trek though... Spock's future loyalty to Pike is more explained by these events... Worf seeking 'visions' on Borath..
Will be less keen if this is a all a Borg origins story though.

Skipped the titles.

No don't! The title sequence changes!

So the titles get more interesting but the show doesn't?
Ok, I'll reverse. Watch the titles and skip the show.

The show gets better too. It did sag slightly mid-season. Second half has been much better.

That's reassuring. It's been much more Motion Picture than Wrath of Khan for the last few episodes and I just want something interesting to happen. I'll keep going.

The first half of season 2 did feel a bit slow with the occasional 'hurriedly rearrange the pieces' episodes but the second half has been much more interesting and intentional.

The first half of the season was much more interesting and dynamic. The second half is a bit too much of 'putting things in place' and the change in showrunners is obvious but is still very enjoyable. Overall, with 2 episodes to go, I would say it's the best Trek season we've had since Voyager s7.. The identity of the Red Angel does push the show from drama to melodrama. Personal taste will dictate how viewers take it.

I generally enjoyed the first half more, and wish we'd had a few more traditional mostly-stand-alone episodes like New Eden, but wouldn't call the second half bad, I'm still enjoying it a lot.
I really like this take on Spock, though from a couple of tweets that have slipped into my timeline on Twitter it sounds like opinion is either divided or against? I think it's good they didn't attempt to do a Nimoy impersonation. I'd be very happy to see an Enterprise show with him and Pike.

2.9. Thought we were on for another snore-fest (literally in my case) watching the arguments at the start, but then we actually got some starship fun and a bit of action. Hurrah! Pity it was based around a character who's had absolutely no impact on the series so far. It was like the ultimate red shirt story.
Skipped the intro. But not the recap. I need those at the moment.

Discovery at its best and worst today. All the emotional goodbyes were too much. Individually great, but collectively just annoyed me because the odds are everything is going to work out fine.
If Spock and Georgio hadn't joined them, they could have maybe convinced me they were going to do something really audacious next week. But given the Short with Discovery alone in the future and Spock having to make it back to Enterprise at some point, it all felt a bit redundant. The Enterprises bridge looks fricking fantastic even if the lighting was a little (a lot) over done.
I like the Discovery's design, but looking at Enterprise as a whole along with its uniforms and its really the route to modernisation they should have taken in the first place.
Hoping to crew make it back next week, get a new ship more like Enterprise and Number one transfers in as Captain As far as I can tell she has no established future events that the show would have to work around and I think would be a good fit.

Just watched 2.13... In the Short set in the future... the ship is hidden away and told to hold position.. to ensure it says hidden from Control? AND it seems remarkably smart bordering on concious... SPHERE DATA! *froths*

I enjoyed that, though not without reservations! Really overly sentimental with the drawn out goodbyes. I know that's kind of the way popular culture has gone lately, and probably for good reason, but it really stands out when you're in a TNG rewatch - yesterday I watched "Where Silence has Lease" where Picard and Riker's decision to give the crew 20 minutes before auto destruct and Picard retires to his quarters to listen to Satie stands in very stark contrast.
That said there was a lot of character stuff that worked well, and I really liked the Queen from that short showing up again and her interactions with Tilly.
Loved the Enterprise bridge, crew and uniforms - I would so much love to see this in a spin-off.

Soooooo... Spoiler Considering how much effort seems to have gone in to the Enterprise set either a Pike based Enterprise spin off or the Disco crew leave Disco in the future and get given a constitution class ship (called Discovery) for season 3.

I never considered that, but now that you mention it you must be close to the mark. Certainly they put a LOT of effort into that set: trekcore.com/blog/2019/04/design-secrets-of-star-trek-discovery-new-uss-enterprise-bridge/
