Nice to see Marvel finally get its act together with getting their animated output out there. 60's Spidey, 1982 Hulk, Silver Surfer and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends are must-buys.
Damn it. I need a paying job.

I used to like watching Spider-Man and his Amazing friends in the 80's. I remember thinking that the sequence where they all change into their super-hero costumes was the coolist thing in animation.

Are any of these really any good for anything other than kitsch and nostalgia? I remember watching spidey and buddies, but not well enough to get the nostalgia kick. As for the 90s stuff, I liked Spidey and x-men a lot at the time, but found them really dull the last time I caught them on fox kids. Hated Marvel action hour even when I was 13.

This isn't about the US done cartoons series like above - but posting it here with it being about Marvel Anime.
But this is about the madhouse done Japan cartoons X-men, Wolverine, Ironman, Blackwidow/Punisher
I got this box set over 12hrs £1.99 from Smyths toys store. juts need to watch Ironman & Wolverine disc 2. But Warren Ellis is doing a greta job on writing. Only complaint - how come Wolverine is 7 foot tall? How tall is he? ? He is only supposed to be 5 foot something. (it is more like 6 foot tall but that is only thing I can find to complaint about apart from the unfunny Japanese jokes)

This thread has reminded me of my lost dvd's of 1982 Hulk and Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends.

You pick those up cheap now so shouldn't be too hard to get them back - but then they'll turn up.

Only complaint - how come Wolverine is 7 foot tall? How tall is he? ? He is only supposed to be 5 foot something. (it is more like 6 foot tall Hugh Jackman is a very fairly guy - much taller than Wolverine who is indeed 5' (he is supposed to be just a hair shorter than Kitty, who is canonically 5' 1" - or at least was last time I saw an official source on that)- so most peoples image of Wolverine is now of a tall, muscular guy with really good hair, rather than the short, dense, grumpy guy with questionable personal hygiene. :-) Karl
