Agreed! And yet evidence exists one of the non winning poll options is coming. Needlenose and Spinister would both be good fits for the line's gimmick.

It might be that the winner is a special deluxe versus pack and the others are standard deluxe.
Put it in a nice box ala repug/counterpunch etc and then you can justify a poll winner

I'd forgotten we knew they were doing Impactor & Mirage as (presumably) deluxe toys. I could see Impactor from Ironhide.... That brings the number of unknown deluxes down to 3, unless there's some misdirects with the art or there's some unknown deluxe vs packs out there, which is a possibility given the poll, that soak up some of the characters we know. The poll was: Needlenose vs Tracks
Spinister vs Wheeljack
Impactor vs Mirage hmmm. That might make Needlenose, Tracks and Spinister our last three deluxe? I think the two-pack would sit outside those deluxe rumours. But, with what we know already you do get the feeling that Crosshairs, Sureshot and Pointblank are coming. But then, so was Monstructor, so who' knows!

Also, there has not yet to date been one single instance of the Fans Choice "losers" ever actually turning up anyway in the line they were up for.

That didn't necessarily have to stop them from making a leader class Scorp or Omega Supreme in TR, or an Arcee repaint of Moonracer or Ultramagnus from Optimus in PotP, or retooling TR Black Shadow as Thunderwing as a "cheap" addition to PotP.

Are we getting a fan pull for the year 2 of this new arc? But the choices we had did not fit the micromaster targetmaster standard. so it maybe chnaged for next year. Also any Transformer toy is first designed about 2 years before the toy comes out with having toy testing & 3D models. What was it windblade was shown 2 weeks after the vote? So any toy has already been designed before the pol is put up then it is just assigning a name from the toy design selections Hasbro have.

No, I believe it was a year after the vote that we saw Windblade. I remember people complaining it was taking so long.
Each one of these votes has been around the length of time it takes from design to prototype before we saw it. I think Victorion was a bit faster turnaround, but she's a retool.

I don't recall indication that the seacons were going to happen, but the pretender monsters were indeed built into the dinobot and terrorcon molds.
It was logical to assume they were going to happen until we realized the over-hyped POTP line was cut in half from a normal line.

Something happened between the mythical TR box-sets and POTP though. My guess is some sort of internal review which lead to the extinction of box-sets, the termination of Takara paint jobs, and an extreme narrowing of the selection of characters that can get Leaders.

I still think that "TR" Thunderwing didn't happen because he was expected to win the POTP poll.
We know they didn't expect Primal to win, because they said as much, and that his inclusion was a joke. I also believe that Hound and Arcee were also jokes choices.
I have no real way to confirm it, but I think they expected that Thunderwing, Ultra Magnus, or Megatron would win.

Arcee might have won just to see what the hell they'd do! (I think for hound, voyager sized bot would be G1, and prime mode would be AOE, but I'm at a loss for Arcee) Or Star Saber. His gimmick fits POTP Leaders I forgot about him. And yeah, he was probably high on their expectations. Maybe more than UM.

Star Saber won that Masterpiece vote a few years ago, too.
Was the Primal vote a joke vote like Erector in the Hall of Fame, or was it like Brexit where the Beast Wars vote was a lot larger, and angrier than anticipated?

Warden, the guy who runs the brand currently is a hardcore Geewunner. He absolutely hates Beast Wars, and believes people who like it are both the minority, and dumb. He's also the guy who ran Joe into the ground by just focusing on a core handful of '83 characters over and over and over again, with little variation between them.
So to him Primal was a joke in that "no one would seriously want this crap," and it won for the same reason BW always wins the HoF vote: we're louder, angrier, and more numerous than Hasbro thinks we are.

I wouldnt be surprised if WFC Hound is pretty close to the design they had for Prime Hounds deluxe section. I expect it would have been pretty similar to Rodimus maybe some kind of troop transport large vehicle and and hound would make a pretty good Powermaster Prime style chest piece. Generally though Hasbro approach to the fan votes has been pretty terrible. The structure of the Victorion vote resulted in a pretty terrible set of specifications, Scorponok was clearly supposed to win the TR vote and Star Saber or Thunderwing the POTP one. You would think they'd learn one Beast Wars character against an assortment of G1 will almost always get the largest share of the vote.

Or, like Brexit, maybe they shouldn't trust the public with the decision? No its a perfectly fair result. Hasbro are just repeatedly and very stupidly asking the wrong question. If 20% of the current fanbase were introduced to Transformers via Beast Wars or found it to be the best version of the line then that group will more than likely always vote for the one Beast Wars option whoever it is. If the G1 vote is always then being split between four or more G1/non BW characters there is a good chance BW will win. If Hasbro dont want to keep making BW toys they need to either include more than one BW character to split the vote or whatchyamacallit you vote first second and third etc, the one with the least votes is knocked out and its voters second choices are added to the other candidates. Repeast till someone gets over 50%.

Arrogantly assume you know what people will do so dont bother thinking through the details of the question and then be shocked when things dont go your way. Though in Hasbro defence they've done much better salvaging something from the result than the tories look like managing.

I don't think we can ever know Hasbro's mind on things given that 'Hasbro' is a composite entity and doesn't tell us what they think.
