Ah, if only Hasbro actually trusted kids to read and not be lacking the necessary attention these days...

Nah, I think it's simply because the Toysaurus went extinct, and Hasbro weren't sure how to distribute the set. Or maybe they thought a deluxe two-pack didn't have the same draw as a leader or a combiner box set or something. Ah well. It wasn't the most exciting poll anyway...

Hmm. What do we know? Wheeljack lost out in the fan vote, but is in the Siege box art we've seen. The art would have been done before the vote finished, but it's a bit presumptuous that he'd win. So maybe we'll see him in the next line. I think Hasbro have failed to predict the last 3 of their fan votes. This is the first one were I'm honestly not sure which they thought would win. Though if it's true (as it seems to be) that the new design team (or at least the boss) is a cartoon first type of fan then Wheeljack does seem like the one they would have expected to win. What are we looking at then, deluxe-wise? 14 figures over 4 waves we were told. Hound Sideswipe Cog Skytread
Chromia Ironhide Refraktor Brunt
Prowl Red Alert Six Gun
Barricade Impactor Mirage Barricade will be a Prowl repaint so they won't be in the same wave but it's interesting he's come up in listings first. The first two waves have a deluxe with a unique gimmick in Skytread's dual vehicles and Refraktor's combining, so I wonder if that will continue. It would be a shame of we didn't get Slammer out of Brunt. Can we be sure the fan vote figures are included in the count of 14? They haven't put in a loosing vote yet, at least not in the same line, So no Wheeljack till 2020?

Ooh. Reading TFW I learn that Barricade was an F1 style car Micromaster before he became the one we're familiar with these days. So his odd appearance among all these G1 names doesn't necessarily mean he's the default remould of Prowl, he could have appeared because the new Mirage mould needs a second use to cover its production cost.

Because really, the only reason I can see them doing Barricade instead of Bluestreak in a nostalgia heavy line like this is to keep the con/bot ratio right.
Bluestreak and Wheeljack for err, what's next... If Siege is supposed to be the Autobots pinned back in Iacon, presumably the next bit is building the Ark? Transformers: Survival

I predict True Fans will loose their minds if a Micromaster is done as a Deluxe.

Yeah. Barricade is like Blue Beetle or Hotshot. While the original will always have fans, it's the second character to use the name who's become iconic, and the one most people remember or care about.
But plot twist: Prowl is a retool of Mirage in a strange turn of events homaging Machine Wars instead of G1, while Barricade is a repaint of Prowl to homage both Barricades.

Ooh. You *know* what will happen round here if Prowl isn't a police car.
Actually, hang on, scrub all that. Mirage won't be an F1 car anyway, will he. He'll be some bizarre Cybertron mode nonsense so that theory holds no water at all.

No, going by Optimus, Ultra Magnus, Hound, and Sideswipe, he'll be an F1 racer with one or two cyberpunk-type bits added to it, and then they'll tell us it's a four million year old alien vehicle.

Does Cybertron have Police cars?
Is Prowl part of the Autobot Police?
I'm worried now. We may need to set up some kind of support network for distressed Prowl fans who discover the latest greatest Prowl has a shite alt mode. Just like all the other toys we've seen so far.

More seriously, what if Prowl is a Hound retool? He spent a long time as an offroad truck of some sort in the IDW comics. Hound isn't terribly far off from that.
We're all logically assuming it'll be Prowl/Barricade. But this line is overloaded with new molds (not that I'm complaining).
So, what if it really is Hound/Prowl, Mirage/Barricade?
There's also the possibility that Impactor is a heavy retool of Hound.

I was thinking about the number of new moulds earlier too. It's odd. I suspect once we get these toys we'll find more instances of the shared engineering that we've come to recognise in recent years.

Actually, there is a fair bit of reuse: Chromia, Red Alert, Six Gun and probably Barricade will be simple remoulds. I still feel that Ironhide will get reused as Wheeljack because his alt mode is very close to Wheeljack's Cybertronian van. Maybe in the next line, like Chromia is a reuse of Moonracer.

Could be the next line will be mostly repaints and remoulds of this one. It sort of makes sense to spread them out across lines instead of waves. Otherwise you eventually end up with the same basic mould on the shelf 2, 3 or 4 times from multiple waves.

Just like all the other toys we've seen so far. You... you're a good cyber-friend, Pins.... I will actually loose my shit if Siege Prowl isn't anything other than magnificent. But I'm not too worried. The figures we've seen look like the characters in the Siege artwork. So I'm confident Prowl will be very Prowly, and will have a black and white kinda policey inspired alt mode. And I have no problem with an armoured car type of alt mode, like Table-flipper. That's fine. So a Prowl from that lovely Hound mold would be interesting... but I'd prefer a new more Prowly mold for Siege Prowl. With obvious repaintings possible. IT'S GOING TO BE FINE. Now if Big Phil would FINALLY find me some pictures of Siege Prowl, I'd be very happy.

Otherwise you eventually end up with the same basic mould on the shelf 2, 3 or 4 times from multiple waves. I think the nostalgia line can get away with that though, the same mold over and over, because the crazy G1ites want the G1 characters, no matter what. They'll easily sell three Tetrajet characters. Heck they'd easily sell SIX Tetrajet characters. Easily sell a Prowl mold repainted a couple of times. 'Cos the nostaligia calls us! IT CALLS US!!! Until the franchise does actually disapear up it's own arse as The Doctor has foreseen...

On they can, but take the classic strike jets. Hasbro eventually released 7 of them, but they took 4 or 5 years to do it. Sensible.
On the other hand during Combiner Wars, its more than likely that plenty of stores would have had Overrun, Ironhide and First Aid on the shelf at the same time. Ditto Alpha bravo, Blades and Vortex.
One of the things Ive seen a lot thanks to Toyfu is that some parents do not like buying the same thing multiple times. Even when a kid specifically says they want say, Vortex, if the parent recognises it as basically the same as Blades which the kid already has they make them pick something else.

I don't see why Prowl would have to be a Cybertronian police car - Jazz was never a Cybertronian porsche, Wheeljack wasn't even a Cybertron race car and Bumblebee was like a flying saucer. The cybertronian modes we did see in the cartoon were very spaceshippy and different shapes to the cars. I think it's a bit lasy just to do a fururistic style/teched up earth vehicle (like Optimus Prime here). Saying that, I'm looking forward to seeing the three I mentioned above. Any idea if there are plans for them?

Mind you, going by what we've seen so far in Sideswipe, Hound and Optimus, if Prowl isn't a police styled vehicle I'd be amazed. He'll just be a police car with a hat.
