This is turning into one of those "next episode" previews from a Japanese show, where whomever is doing the voiceover veers madly off-point at great speed...

Aye, I'd assume it's just the legends with a new name. We'll see. At some point. Maybe.

Taking a wild swing here: Battlemasters are Targetmasters, as Titanmasters were Headmasters.
Mayhap it's a little more broadly defined to include melee weapons as well as guns.
Also, the autobot and decepticons were alien vehicles, and hasbro's touched exactly none of the large autobot targetmasters, ever. Get the robots in deluxe, get the nebulons in battlemaster.

I love that idea.
ALSO as it is Cybertron era do you think we'll finally get a Fusion figure ?? (We hadn't before have we?)

Looks like Micromasters will take Legends class slot. But how will that work? Will it just be a Micromasters character in a Legends sized toy? Or will it be something different- like a Micromaster 2-pack/3-pack?

I could see the Legends size being 2 x Micromasters. After all the current Legends assortment got it's name from being 2 of the old style Legends size in a pack together during War For Cybertron.
But I would be loathe to loose the current Legends size.
3 things to consider:
1) At the moment this is "I was told this by someone"
2) Micromasters may not be the same size as old Micromasters
3) Micromasters may not be the same characters as the old Micromasters. In fact I'd lay money that, if this is true, you'll be seeing a lot of the familiar faces at a smaller size. Again.

Well, according to the hear-say rumor, the micromasters will also be in bind box twopacks. That DEFINITIVELY rules out micromasters being a continuation of the current Legend class scale. Those cost $10 each. No one in their right minds will pay $20 for sight unseen toys for a greater than average chance at getting duplicates of things you just bought for $20.
So micromasters are likely something really small, and possibly really simple.

Micromasters could be just abit bigger than Titan masters we currently have but transforming into cars & not just head - but without falling apart like Minicons.

It does kind of follow the patern of experiment with a gimmick: FOC Bruticus > Combiner Wars, Generations Brainstorm > Titans Return.
.....
Titans Return base modes with small figures to interact with > WFC Micromasters?

I misunderstood/misread Phil's post. TFW2005:
It doesn't actually say the blindboxes will be micromasters and battlemasters. Just "there will also be blindboxes." This could just be WfC themed tiny titans.

Eh, that's how I got my Micromaster train combiner.
But they at least had a number on them to let you know which one, I guess.

It's part of the fun and what I am paying for. Feeling to see what is inside is part of the experience. It's not just me. You'll often see people of all ages feeling blind bag packets in toy aisles. Blind boxes are no fun as they take this element away and also increase the chance of a doubler. Recall how Character's successful lines of blind bag figures (Doctor Who and football) died a very quick death after they moved to blind box packaging.
Blind boxes also tend to be used as a format for boutique (and more expensive) lines. I often laugh at blind boxes selling for £5-10. Not paying that for what could be a doubler!

Yeah, not a fan of blind boxes at all. The minibot became obsessed with the Funko Lord of the Rings series, and was needing a Merry to complete it all. So just find one of the light ones. After two Frodos she got me to choose. And yes, by pure luck, I snagged a Merry. But paying £6.99 for what might have been a duplicate and then trying to shift it? Nah. No fun at all.

So more Pretender shells which turn into weapons coming? I'm up for that!

So more Pretender shells which turn into weapons coming? I'm up for that! No, I said nothing about pretender shells or primemasters. I'm thinking more akin to the targetmasters. Particularly those that come with the more recent Takara Legends. Perhaps with some becoming melee weapons like PCC minicons.

Seems likely without a Hascon. NYCC is at the start of October which is nicely positioned for wave two reveals.
