Looks like Impactor vs Mirage is running away with it. Also, assuming only one voter per person, then the Impactor votes contain the greatest amount of cheating. A deluxe Impactor is going to look stupid among your existing toys. Plus if you really wanted Impactor you would have Spartan already. Depends on what kind of deluxe moulds come out of the next line. If its as big and chunky as Rook but sculpted as Impactor I'll be more than happy with it.

I hope it will not be three years of just explaining things that don't really need to be explained or have just been set up to be explained.

Spartan isn't Impactor. -Ralph Have I missed something?

Spartan is literally not Impactor. The latter is a Hasbro owned character. The former is based off it and given a different name by a company which does not have the rights to make an Impactor toy. Consumers can of course make their choices about what they want to buy.
We have a 3rd party thread for 3p stuff and generally stick with official stuff in this part of the board (though there is some natural bleed-through from time to time).

Tesco value jaffa cakes are literally not McVities Jaffa Cakes TM either. Just semantics really.
I wonder if the new toyline story will somehow be related to the IDW reboot?

I'll have to agree to disagree with you re: semantics.

Our Poll Results: Which 2 pack in the 2018 Fan Vote would you vote for? Needlenose vs Tracks (Brother vs Brother) 2nd - 1 vote (16.67%)
Spinister vs Wheeljack (Saboteur vs Scientist)
3rd - 0 votes (0%)
Impactor vs Mirage (Greater Good vs Greater $$$)
1st - 5 votes (83.33%) No surprise there as we all want a proper Hasbro Impactor. Though preferably one with the correct faction symbols.

Having slept on it, and now the official Poll has closed, I've merged the two threads on WFC trilogy and the 2018 fan vote, and done a little tidying up while I was here.

I gave up buying 3rd party long before Spartan came out, because it was clear that HasTak would eventually get through most of the G1 characters. Just need patience. More recently I have also stopped getting Official Masterpieces, due to cost and space.
However I kept two exceptions:
1. Characters HasTak will never do- like the DJD.
2. My favourite characters, of which Impactor is one.
Springer is another, but I have found myself in a weird holding pattern to see which one of the 3P Masterpieces is the one to go for.

Stick two Impactors together at the arm and spray green. Job done. Always frustrated me that FunPub never tried anything like that.

Tesco value jaffa cakes are literally not McVities Jaffa Cakes TM either. Just semantics really. Not really - the distinction is an important one in a legal sense. Spartan, in being based on Hasbro's intellectual property and created without their permission, is in breach of the law. In theory those who are profiting from its manufacture can be subject to criminal proceedings. (In practice this won't happen due to these folk being based in nations with a rather...creative...method of living up to the obligations of treaties that they have signed. But that's a "not getting prosecuted" not a "not illegal" thing). The distinction is one of copyright law. A very different thing to the Trademark law which you reference above. They are related, but don't work in the same way. (And yes, in legal terms Tesco's value jaffa cakes (cakes made with jaffa oranges) are legally distinct from "McVities Jaffa Cakes" (the cakes made from jaffa oranges by McVities). Jaffa cakes themselves are not trademarkable, because they are insufficiently distinct. Whereas "McVities Jaffa Cakes" are trademarkable because the distinctive feature is that they are the jaffa cakes made by McVities. But neither of them are copyrightable because they are not an artistic product in the sense defined in copyright law. Karl

Just a few comparison photos. I think a deluxe Impactor will not be sufficient. I on the other hand think a deluxe Impactor will be quite sufficient. Heck, I would be happy with either of the Impactors we've has so far, I just was never in the right place, at the right time, with the right amount of money to afford one. But fortunately it looks like we are getting a third one so, to paraphraase Madelyne Pryor:- "Third times the charm." Karl

Deluxe Twin Twist and Topspin were pretty chunky for deluxes. Ah well, with luck it will get an oversized knock off.

You could always imagine Impactor as being the Wolverine-like one of the Wreckers - short, but disproportionately strong, violent and popular.
