Why the hatred for Kickback Ralph? Did he pretend to befriend you on your first day at school but then run off with all your crisps?
I'm also begginning to think Shrapnel embarrassed a young Martin at school too. (or perhaps knocked his orange squash over).

My vote is simple - having owned all three insecticons courtesy of a reissue many moons ago, I have had experience of all three toys. The one that I expected to like the most was Shrapnel but, whilst he remains the character that I have most love for, which toy got taken down from the shelf and fiddled with the most? Bombshell.
Bombshell takes this one for me as being the toy that is most fun to just play around with.

Good grief! A sudden late surge for Bombshell! Do I change my vote back and hope that the resurgence is enough to to tip him over the edge? But the chance may be too great for if no other votes follow then Kickback would win by one vote! ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Bombshell is very cool. I've always seen him as the 'Mad Scientist' of the Decepticons, as well as the Leader of the Insecticons...

I see him as the leader too. I don't think there's a definitive answer to that is there? The tech specs don't say beyond... Is it Shrapnel who has leadership 7 and the other two 6? Certainly the cartoon suggests Shrapnel. But Bombshell is the most intelligent and his biography is really nasty. He was the first one I got and I think the best looking. The head mounted mortar is super.

I'm fairly sure Bombshell and Shrapnel are 6, while Kickback is 7. The cartoon begins with Shrapnel more leadery, but I find later in the series Bombshell functions more as leader, because, as you say Pins, he's the most intelligent.

No, Kickback has the higher rank on tech specs because Espionage/Spy outranks Warrior/Warfare.
(In the Nemesis crew, Buzzsaw outranks Frenzy, Skywarp and Thundercracker. In the Ark crew, Mirage and Bumblebee outrank Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Cliffjumper, Windcharger and Tracks. In Straxus's merry band, Kickback outranks Shrapnel, Bombshell, Ramjet, Thrust and Dirge. It's a nice little relationship between function and rank on Uncle Bob's tech specs.)

Yes, Uncle Bob's Techspecs are pretty awesome.
I do think it may have altere the dynsmics if certsin warrior types had higher ranks. For example, Dirge or Thrust, being a 6 or 7 say, acting as a rival to Starscream. Dirge certainly seemed in chargeish on Cybertron during Target:2006. Blitzwing as an 'Air and Ground Commander' could have been higher. So a bit of flexability maybe. The Constructicon ranks are strangely low. And there are not many Decepticons in the 7s. Or maybe that's the way Uncle Bob (and Megatron) want it.

I dont know who to vote for again. Ive no strong attachment to any of them. I got all 3 from a carboot sale in the mid 90s all to some extent worn and or broken. I was very excited to own them but not much between them. Having said that Kickback has always seemed the lesser of the 3.
I'm tempted to go for Bombshell because I really like the fourstar KO scorpion version.
