I'm really starting to like Martin.
Have I given him a title/regiment of horse yet...?

Minor point of interest about the Protectobots: the four smaller Protectobots all have differently shaped handguns, but they are all apparently photon pistols, equivalent to 5,000-watt lightbulbs. Similarly, all the Constructicons' handguns look different but they are all apparently laser pistols. Contrast with Bluestreak/Prowl/Smokescreen, Grapple/Inferno, Starscream/Skywarp/Thundercracker, Buzzsaw/Laserbeak, etc. whose weapons look the same but do different things. The handguns of the Aerialbots, Stunticons and Combaticons all look different _and_ do different things. What I can't think of, off the top of my head, are any TFs whose weapons look the same _and_ do the same thing. Hmmm. Maybe Frenzy and Rumble. But you have to go to their instructions to find what their guns are called. (They're "thruster guns", apparently.) Funny old world. Martin And this is why each Transformer can only hold THE WEAPON THEY COME WITH. TAKE NOTE, PHIL!!! TAKE NOTE!!! *shakes fist* *pounds ground* -Ralph

A ridiculous position.
It would be like the Hub Paramedic only being able to use a syringe. Is Shockprowl limited to only one type of medical kit? No. Can he drive more than one type of ambulance? Yes.
Like robots he is multifunctional. It just depends on what he is holding.

Only Judge Dredd can FIRE Judge Dredd‘s gun. #pedant Does Rico have the same palm print? Don't know. Given that identical twins don't have the same fingerprints I'd be inclined to say no. Except that as I recall Dredd and his Clone brother were tank-bred rather than surrogate-born, so it may be that they weren't subject to the different experiences from being in different areas of the womb that twins are. So perhaps all the Fargo-line have similar enough palm-prints for a Lawgiver's biometric sensors... I think we'd have to check, and I don't think I can get access to Med Div's records for that particular program... Karl

For the record, after long consideration... I am going with Blades in the poll. He turns into a UH-I, one of the iconic utility helicopters both in sight and sound terms. He was the Protectobot I wanted as a kid, so he gets my vote here.

Phil has been thinking...
Obviously we'll end up with all four Combiners up against each other a week Friday.
But is voting for which one is the best combiner necessarily the same as voting for the best combiner team?

But is voting for which one is the best combiner necessarily the same as voting for the best combiner team? Yes! The team is the same toy as the combiner, in a different form! If you go down the road of different polls for different modes, we'll have to start the whole thread again from the beginning! As for Groove... he has a single wheel in the middle of his legs - how is that supposed to work then? Martin

I dunno.... I think the best team is the Protectobots.. but I do prefer Menasor as the most 'together' combined form. Yes, and my favourite Protectobot in vehicle mode is Blades, but my favourite Protectobot in robot mode is First Aid, but I don't want two different polls! We're voting on Transformer toys that transform into whatever they transform into, not Transformers fixed in one mode. Defensor can transform into the Protectobot team, and the Protectobot team can transform into Defensor, so they are the same toy. Martin

If he needs to get somewhere fast then he turns into a motorbike. (Or pinches Ratchet's sled)

But does it mean he has to walk without separating his legs above the knee? Or is his wheel only attached to the inside of one leg? Or does his wheel and tyre split in two like on the model sheet? Martin
