Food Friday night, subject to whoever is going to be there and when. I must pin Karl and Nick down on their travel plans. I won't be arriving till later in the evening on the Friday unfortunately. It is the first Friday of my new full-time hours, so it wouldn't really be politic to take it off. I will get back to you tomorrow at some point to confirm my probable eta. Remind me in due course which buses go out to your way, and which stop I should aim for. Sounds like a fine plan to me. Karl

Will M and Mrs M be joining us for dinner Fri/Sat at the Death Fortress? Can we be reminded of dietary requirements? I know Karl and Ralph are no egg.... Definitely on the Saturday. M curses the existence of onions and only finds cheese and tomato acceptable on pizza. Spicy concoctions are also not wise for his tummy these days. Mrs M loathes bananas and and cucumbers.

ONE WEEK.
I need kind thoughts that my health issue clears up enough between now and next Friday so I can manage a day's travel. An hour and a quarter at a time on a train today was ok but my limit.
GP on Monday. I must be cured enough for Lego!!!

GP on Monday. I must be cured enough for Lego!!! -Ralph Good thoughts headed your way. Been running the options as far as getting there, it looks like the best way to do it is to leave Northampton on the 17:16, go via Coventry and Reading getting in to Swindon at 20:17. This seems to be the best combination of not travelling through London on a Friday night, cost, and minimising faffing about changing trains. Karl

Sounds like you have worked out a good System to give the big City some Space. Be sure to lock up Castle Karl when you leave in case of criminals and Pirate. I hear the police like to Duplo-cate paperwork so could get quite Technic-al and time consuming if something happened!
(I'll be there all Saturday folks *sound of blocks falling off a cliff*)

Thank you for that. It took a lot of study to come up with this plan. But fortunately the National Rail Enquiries website gave me a good Base to build on. The people who put that together are fine folks, absolute bricks.

M curses the existence of onions and only finds cheese and tomato acceptable on pizza. So Lasagne out because of the cheese & tomato? Mrs A was also thinking of doing Sausages in a sauce with onions, would be the sausages be OK for you after they' been pulled out the sauce?

Sausage in a sauce is good though others may have the onions!

Train Tickets booked. Currently feeling very cranky with the website on which I booked them, as it has taken fifteen minutes to get it sorted out - twelve more than it really should have done.
Was going to book a ticket for the Saturday for the show, but have realised that my printer has no ink - thus I think I shall be getting a ticket on the door it seems. They do that right?

Excellent! In that case, seeing as the bag is already packed - I am all sorted and ready for my voyage tomorrow evening! Good company, LEGO, Robots, and banter await!

I am looking forward to getting up at 5am to begin the epic voyage. Should reach Swindon station at 13:23. Hopefully the lurgy will have cleared enough and the other issues don't bother me too much. I am rather nervous about spending around 7 hours sitting on trains in my current condition.

Extremely nauseus and feeling fragile this morning. Hopefully just something I ate yesterday. Had some trouble getting to the station and made it to the train seconds before the door closed.
Another LNER booking fuckup means I am stuck at a busy table (I never book tables when travelling solo as this means less leg room). Trying not to throw up over people.

Mrs M and I have had to cancel plans for coming down. Saw my GP on an emergency appointment this morning and she has told me not to travel currently. She has no idea what might be causing the symptoms I have been having for three months now but earlier tests have ruled out a whole bunch of stuff. She has arranged an expedited set of final tests over the weekend which will either lead to a powerful antibiotics regime or an urgent colonoscopy referral at the local hospital. All said and done I'd rather be down in Swindon with all of you, looking at Lego and collecting TR Grand Max from Phil.. Sorry folks.

I am here though not feeling too grand. Nick and The Kaptain depending on when travel disruption on the railways lines lets them go.

The Kaptain has been kiboshed by a signal failure north of him which delayed his outbound from Coventry.
He is about to learn when he gets off his train at Reading that all westbound trains to Swindon have gone down the khazi.....
