Guess what we've just been doing?
Yup another game of chase the hamster! He overcame last night's bracing of the cage and got out AGAIN!
This time, once we rescued him from behind Jonathan's wardrobe, we wired the portals for his tubes on!

ESCAPE FREE NIGHT!
While out getting the new Avengers comic I spotted massive 3 level hamster cage being taken in to the local charity shop. I sent Liz and Jonathan in and now Geoff has new plush accommodation!

We came down this morning to discover that one of the hatches on the top of Geoff's cage was off.
Did we leave it off last night when he came out in the Battle Ball? Did we not tighten it when we put him back and he flipped it off? Did he unscrew it and get out?
There were some old bits of apple in the cage today too. Now I have a very untidy nearly 12 year old who might occasionally "forget" when he's done with an apple core so it's plausible some might have got dropped on the floor. But how Geoff got out & down, got them and got back up & IN is a little bemusing....

Have you never seen the clear balls you can put Hamsters in?
They run, ball turns. Like a cage wheel but it moves

I have witnessed such things, but never heard them referred to as BATTLE BALLS. Does it have side mounted machine guns? It sounds like it ought to.

Did we leave it off last night when he came out in the Battle Ball? Did we not tighten it when we put him back and he flipped it off? Did he unscrew it and get out? Geoff is a hamster...either of the last two are entirely plausible given that fact. If rats are the great survivors of the rodent world, then Hamsters are the great - and habitual - escapers. In the pet caper movie they are every bit the "second storey-man" , masters of wire-gags, opening locks and hatches and getting in and out by ways that others just didn't forsee. See "hamster", above... Karl

Perhaps someone got up in the night and put the apple core in the cage and forgot to lock up properly?

Post by The Doctor on Nov 13, 2018 8:07:57 GMT
That seems less plausible.

..... especially as further evidence has emerged over night of Geoff's powers as he did the same thing again!
The question of "How many spple cores has Jonathan dropped down the back of the sofa?" is emerging!
