Monday is Clean Their Abode Day. I thought with 4 now instead of 5 this would be easier. Oh no it wasn't. They now fear The Paintbrush and run away from it rather than cling on so they can be moved to The Tub while their abode is cleaned! Three of the bastards escaped and made a run for it across the kitchen worktop before they were recaptured.
NEXT MONDAY IT'S WAR.

Much easier moving them today for house cleaning. The trick is to do it earlier when they are sleepy. Tee hee.
In other news, I have about two weeks left of ivy left before the current plant runs out of leaves. I cannot find a supply locally!!! They eat ivy. I have checked garden stores to no avail!!!

Ivy can be bought in IKEA. And surely there will be some down the canel?? We get ours from a Bush at Tesco car park.

The Four Surviving Stickies were getting bigger so it was time to move them to a bigger house which seemed to go ok though a spider infiltrated it so was swiftly evicted. I feared the Stickies being stuck in its web.

I don't think it is going well. They are not as active as before and two of them spend all their time hugging the same twig. I think they will expire soon. Don't think they are as keen on the outside ivy as they were with the Ikea plant ivy.

Did you wash the outside ivy first? And have maintained a high humidity in the tank? They get less active with age and with lower temperatures as well.

And are you keeping the ivy fresh by having the cut end in a pot of water?

They're in a bigger tank now as well so have less need to roam around as they are not getting in each others way.
Fret not.

The ivy was washed before going in the tank and I spray every second day.

By spraying every other day? You probably don't need to spray that often actually.
Temperature will be key moving out of Summer. Keep their tank out of drafts and the room temperature reasonable.

They live next to the kitchen sink so are out of drafts.

prayers required, we have had to take our cat to the vets and they are keeping her in for xrays and checks as her bladder is blocked.

The Stickies were grumpy as fuck when I was trying to move them to clean their house this evening. They were not for moving. I think they have become teenagers.

first time iv'e felt a small hint of positivity regarding our lil puss, shes home after 3 nights at the vets surgery, she was severely dehydrated, had numerous scans and bloods done but all came up fairly clear, however she was clearly REALLY poorly as she was barely moving. shes much better now but i dont want to hope too much that shes better just yet. we are enjoying her company ATM. 3 nights of 24 hour vet care, a few tests and all the different scans etc have set me back £1400 tho so no transformers till after Christmas me thinks sadly

Two spiders have passed away in the last 36 hours here. Most peculiar.

Took some doing to wake up the Stickies this morning so I could clean out their house. They have since spent the rest of the day hanging upside down in indignation.

Looking after the youngest's school friend's hamster over half term. Tiny thing it is. I can't remember it's real name so I'm calling it Sparky (youngest will correct me tomorrow I'm sure). It has tiny gripping hands. It climbed up it's cage with them. When it woke it looked confused. I let it smell my hand whilst I said, "Friend... friend...".

We looked after the Nursery's hamster one time. Little test escaped. OUT OF A LOCKED CAGE. Gone for days. Rang the Head teacher to say sorry. Then, one evening, I walk into the kitchen, and there it was. Little fucker. I grabbed it, and secured it in it's cage. Nightmare.

The stick insects continue to...not do very much. I have noticed though that each one tends to have its own part of the tank they like to hang about in. Sometimes they look like they are hugging.
No sign of eggs. I am not sure when they start doing that.
Their level of poo seems to increase a lot as they age. It will be mucking out time on Sunday, I reckon.

The biggest Sticky is now upside down with its legs in the air, balanced on a twig. I am undecided if it has expired or is just being weird.
