Another overnight. So:
Egg 1: partial hatching, expired. Egg 2: hatched but egg stuck to back legs. Not looking well. Egg 3: hatched OK. Egg 4: hatched last night but also egg stuck to back legs. Looks ok. Eggs 5-10: still eggs.

We are still on just the two new ones. They are getting big quickly and might soon need transferring to the mid-range tank at this rate. All other eggs still waiting to hatch.

The eight babies have had their house cleaned for the first time. They were very co-operative and the operation was quick and painless. One egg left to hatch.
By contrast, the four adults today were ABSOLUTE BASTARDS. Never before have they been so difficult when trying to clean their house. BASTARDS!!!!

Six of the ten babies have currently survived. Four of them have molted and seem healthy and growing fast. Two of them are a bent and small and I don't expect them to make it.
Meanwhile, at Beta Site, FOURTEEN have hatched.

Stickies upgraded to bigger tanks here. Low numbers of both medium and large. We have harvested lots of eggs to offset this. Hopefully.

I will be stopping at Generation 2. There will not be a Generation 3. I feel I've pretty much done the stick insect experience.

One of the spiders died last night. She has looked well/not well at times for months now and was always smaller than her siblings. Boo.

The five surviving Alpha Site young Stickies got big enough to move to their Forever Tank. The four old adults are still with us.
The sixteen young Stickies at Beta Site are still doing fine.

Leaf some ivy out. Stick at it and it might yet emerge.
Four new baby stickies born here in last fortnight. One has snuffed it already.

The lost Beta Site Sticky may have been, er, mistaken for a bit of red onion. It may now be in Sticky Heaven.
Got to be honest, I am really over the Sticky experience by now. The adults are now about a year old. They should croak soon.

These are Snowflake, on my lap, and Flopsy, in the hutch, our rabbit guests for the week. They are occupying Miracle and Panda's old hutch in the back garden and thus far seem happy with their holiday home and catering. Snowflake suffers from Torticollis so has her head at an odd angle. No problem, we specialise in slightly wonky in our house.

Be sure to freeze the eggs first before disposal or you risk creating an invasive species outbreak.
